Witte Ratchet Drive, a Pocketable EDC Screwdriver Set

Witte Ratchet Drive Screwdriver Bit Kit

A reader tipped us off about these new Witte Ratchet Drive screwdriver kits, which come with a ratcheting bit holder and six 1/4″ hex insert bits. This compact bit kit looks easy to pocket and convenient to use.

The Ratchet Drive is similar in nature to Wera’s Bit Checks, but perhaps even smaller. Although some of the Wera sets come with locking bit holders, I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a ratcheting version.

I could not find a USA source for these sets, but it does take time for new products to trickle in from Germany.

Thanks to Dana for the heads-up!

This looks very similar to a Home Depot Husky tool that was sold at Christmas two years ago. It also looks similar to the Re:Solve tool recently closed out at Lowe’s. The quality and functionality of this tool appear to far exceed those of the Husky tool. I definitely want one of these just for the neato factor.

It looks un-necessarily large. Something like http://www.sears.com/craftsman-3-pc-bit-wrench-set-ratchet-screwdriver/p-00941716000P?prdNo=49&blockNo=99&blockType=G99 but with bit storage in the handle seems like it would be the most compact solution.

It’s actually not that big. I have a video of it here at the bottom of the page:

It’s a cool, price checked around 40 bucks give or take, which is more than I think it’s worth.
Anyone here know of a bit adapter/holder by itself that is ratcheting?
