Amazon Dewalt ToughSeries Tape Measure Deal May 2025

I wanted to link to my favored Dewalt and Milwaukee tape measures in a recent post, but didn’t because there are no current deals and the pricing was pretty lousy.

Good news – I found better prices. To my surprise, they’re offered on Amazon, with Amazon as the direct seller and shipper.

Sold and shipped by Amazon and for less money than at Home Depot? I can’t find the catch.

Home Depot Dewalt ToughSeries Tape Measure Deal May 2025

Amazon has the Dewalt ToughSeries 25-foot tape measure for $22.25 while Home Depot has it for $33.97.

That’s a pretty big difference.

This is one of the best tape measures I’ve ever used. Personally I prefer the 16′ size, but the 25′ is a better go-to for most people until or unless they prefer otherwise.

Amazon Dewalt Atomic Tape Measure Deal May 2025

I’m also a big fan of the Dewalt Atomic series tape measures. They’re much more value-oriented than the ToughSeries tapes, but have a better feel and build quality than Dewalt’s other less expensive tape measures.

I’d buy it again in a heartbeat, although probably not at $18.97 for the 25′ tape.

Home Depot Dewalt Atomic Tape Measure Deal May 2025

Amazon has the same Dewalt tape measure – sold and shipped directly by Amazon – for $12.99.

I’d prefer 2 for $20, but I think this is a great Dewalt tape measure that’s a good deal at $13 each.

It has been a while since I’ve looked outside of Home Depot and Lowe’s for tape measure deals. I’ll have to check Amazon more often.

Seems unusual that amazon are undercutting home depot by that much. IME they have the same prices. I usually by from HD because they ship faster than prime for me.

Continuing the SBD confusion theme from the dewalt drill article is there any difference between these Dewalt tapes and Stanleys???

These are newer designs. I’d say the Atomic is positioned slightly lower than FatMax , and ToughSeries much higher.

Given the large percentage price difference between HD and Amazon on these tapes, my question is, are they the genuine article on Amazon?

Sold and shipped by Amazon, so yes, with high confidence.

I’m of the understanding that prices on Amazon are controlled by Dewalt, and prices at Home Depot are controlled by Home Depot.

Amazon creates their own prices and tries to undercut everyone they can. It’s a constant issue working as a brand with a vendor relationship with Amazon when they undercut the prices you try to get everyone to abide by.

If you won’t sell them a product, they will even bypass you and buy from one of your distributors just to get the product.

Amazon says they sold more than 2K in the past month of the Atomic and 300+ of the ToughSeries, plus another 5K+ for the 30ft Atomic. Which Dewalt supplier would you think is selling Amazon >7,000 of 2 SKUs of tape measures over the course of a month?

Brands aren’t powerless when it comes to Amazon pricing.

    Right below Home Depot picture….

“Amazon has the DeWalt Tough**System* 25 foot …”
    Should be ‘Tough _Series_ ‘

I always liked these DeWalt tapes but stopped using them years ago when they started using the big huge hook end they were using before. It was like a big W shape designed to hook on top of tape in addition to regular bottom hook, I think it even had a clip-in part you added on too. It only made end of tape way too heavy and affected the stand-out, in addition to not fitting inside standard vinyl siding ¾” J-channel trim cause it was soo huge. I’m glad to see they stopped using that hook and went back to a regular end, cause these tapes were always comfortable in-hand and we’re longer lasting than some other tapes.
Nowadays I prefer using the Crescent\Lufkin NiteEye tape with florescent yellow numbers on ‘black’ background tape. It shows up much better in lower light\shadowy situations, is nice comfortable tape to use and also has all the numbers on backside(bottom) of the tape which comes in handy at times too.
I agree with you on the smaller tapes being more handy also. I do like the compact 16 foot version for smaller jobs, but also have the normal 25 footers for most other jobs. The bright number on dark background are really nice to look at…Not that mine or anyone’s eyesight may be getting affected by our ages or anything like that… Lol

Home Depot updated their Price Match Guarantee page back in March, and better clarifies that they will match Amazon for products shipped & sold by Amazon.
