Amazon and Lowe’s have Deals on EGO’s Best Cordless Snow Blower

EGO Cordless Snowblower Kit SNT2807

Amazon and Lowe’s look to have the same good deal on this EGO 28″ cordless snow blower, model SNT2807.

The kit comes with the 28″ two-stage snow blower, a dual battery charger, and (2) 56V 12Ah batteries.

I tested EGO’s smaller two-stage snow blower – it’s been excellent, with powerful, consistent, and reliable performance. This 28″ model looks quite a bit different, aside from being able to clear a wider path, but looks to have good reviews.

Features include variable speed self-propulsion, trigger-controlled steering assist, heated handles, and a joystick for electronic chute adjustments.

It has 16″ x 5″ snow tires for traction. EGO says this blower has a 28″ clearing width and 21″ intake height, and can throw snow up to 60 feet away. They say it can clear up to a 32-car driveway with 8 inches of snow on a single charge with the included batteries.

Deal Price: $2070.26

Ignoring the various “was” and “list” prices (most claim it was $2419), other EGO dealers are selling the same kit for $2269 right now. Amazon and Lowe’s knock nearly $200 off that price.

I shopped around and couldn’t find a lower price outside of Amazon and Lowe’s. The other EGO dealers I checked have the same model for a couple of hundred dollars more, and some tack on freight fees. If you price-shop, keep in mind there’s also the tool-only model, and a smaller 24″ snow blower.

Amazon has other EGO snow blower deals:

24″ Cordless Snow Blower Kit – similar to what I tested
24″ Cordless Snow Blower Kit – newer model with more features, higher capacity batteries

Caution: Amazon says all of these are non-returnable, but refund or replacement can be requested if there is damage or defects. The policy cites transportation of hazardous materials, which likely refer to the high watt-hour batteries.

Lowe’s has free delivery (as of the time of this posting) and also advertises free returns.

Not snow related, but an Ego mower query: There are a lot of Ego mower models (16!), but I haven’t discovered anything that lays out the options & reasons for each model. If anyone is aware of an Ego mower model comparison table, I’d love to see it.

Wayne, you should see a “Compare Mowers” button if you go to any of the listings on the Ego website, it should list the major differences.

That said, the numbering scheme is both tricky and straightforward. The last digit is usually reserved for what batteries are included. Using this post as a reference, 2807 has two 12Ah batteries while 2800 would be tool only. The leading digits (28) is for the machine width, and the third digit is usually a generational/feature type thing.

How did I never put together that the first two digits were machine width? Thanks for pointing that out!

The Ego snow shovel is on sale too. I’ve been eyeing it up but have yet to pull the trigger.

I’m definitely going to buy it! Wish it had the 4.0 battery like with the multi-head attachment but 2.5 is going to have to do.

If it’s anything similar in performance to their multi-head snow shovel, it will be great for light snows on a concrete driveway. Use it like an upright vacuum, sliding it back and forth on the pavement. Don’t try to lift the end, since it’s pretty heavy.

I have both the single stage SNT2110 and the multi-head snow shovel attachment, and if it’s under 3-4″ I’ll just use the powered snow shovel. Anything deeper and I get out the single stage.

Watched your review on it the other day! I’ve got the SNT2400 and it’s a pain lugging it in and out (porch steps) for snow that the Ego shovel can easily handle.

I’ve got the 24″ model and it’s pretty beasty in its own right. Ceramic coat it (then maintain with a graphene spray) and it handles snow quite well.

I would just like to say that the day this website ceases is going to be one of the most depressing days ever for me. What Stuart has created with this site is mind boggling, invaluable, and amazing. I’m only a DIYer, but I read this site everyday. I don’t see how it can ever be replicated, given the amount of work and care that Stuart puts into this. Hats off. I’ll try to enjoy it and appreciate it while I have it.

Thank you, I appreciate it! I’m not sure how you got there from a cordless snow blower deal alert post, but I’ll take it!

Can these be left outside at all? More or less than the gas ones?

The user manual probably has guidance on this, but I would NOT leave any cordless snow blower outside overnight.

I left it outside last winter under a tarp. I’m in Canada. We got tons of snow where I live and it can drop under 30C at night on the coldest days. Didn’t see any problems. Just keep the battery inside and you’ll be fine. Ego sell a cover by the way so I imagine they are not against it.

The Ego covers specifically say “not for outdoor use.”

Ok I didn’t see it. But anyway, no space in the shed so it will stay outside.

We store ours (24” 2-stage) in the shed. It works great; it replaced an Ariens gas model because my wife didn’t want to fiddle around with the carburetor.

However. It did freeze last year and I had to bring it into my basement to thaw out, so that’s not ideal for a winter tool.

This year I’ve brought a heated blanket home from my shop to keep over it in the shed – hopefully no more shenanigans.

I wish they would come out and say it’ll clear this many square feet that deep instead of something nebulous like “a 32-car driveway”. What an awful metric. Are they saying 32 Yarises or 32 F250s? I’m surprised they stuck with inches for snow depth instead of something equally nebulous like “bananas”.

As they say though, the Inuit had hundreds of words for snow, because the stuff can be so varied.

A gentle powder, this might clear a an entire neighborhood. A melting soggy slushy mess, it might take everything to clear 1 pass 50′ long.

Let’s go with a smart car, since no one can claim false advertising. That’s 282 ft x 5 ft. I can’t imagine one would use one below 2″ of snow, so that works out to be 235 cu ft of snow. I never see more than 1″ of snow so I don’t need one, but as with all tools, I tend to not trust inflated/impressive numbers and figure out what the real minimums are.

No matter how good it is, a dual 18V-powered single stage snow blower will be a very different beast from a dual 56V-powered two stage snow blower.

I hope to have the opportunity to test it out this winter, but it’s not guaranteed.

The last single stage snow blower I tested was the Dewalt https://toolguyd.com/dewalt-cordless-snow-blower-review/ , and the batteries overheated before I could clear my driveway.

When I tested EGO’s first single stage snow blower, it depleted its batteries before I could finish clearing my driveway.

My driveway is slightly convex at the bottom. The self-propelled two stage EGO clears deeper snow than the single stage blowers and with greater ease.

It’s not effortless, but you can tell that single and dual stage snow blowers have completely different power requirements.

Single stage blowers like the Dewalt need to be rammed into snow, for lack of a better way to put it, and then you can make a finishing pass. Dual stage blowers like the EGO above are like Pac-Man and just gobble up the snow.

It takes some effort to maneuver the 24″, and I expect the 28″ to be just as unwieldy, although the steering assist sounds nice. But that’s going to be different work than with single stage machines.

I’ve had the Ego single stage for three winters in Mid-Hudson NY, with two 5ah batteries. The driveway is dirt and gravel approx. 10’ x 100+’. The blower is not self propelled. In wet snow, it’s a workout. Doesn’t throw snow far, but with proper technique, it does the job. I paid $650 for it. It would be a tough decision to spend over two grand, but I’d love a self powered one that was two stage. If I knew it would last 10+ years, it would be worth it.
