Over at Amazon, Bosch’s PS31 drill/driver kit is on sale for just $99. The kit includes 2x li-ion battery packs, a quick charger, and soft carrying case.
I mention PS31 deals every so often for two reasons: 1) it’s the 12V-class drill I enjoy using most often, and 2) it’s a great bargain and entry into Bosch’s 12V platform.

There are a couple of combo kit options available, and I find them to be great values, especially if you want to give Bosch’s L-Boxx storage system a try.

Due to the timing of the largest kit’s release, I think it might be discounted as part of Amazon’s Black Friday promotions this year.
We briefly reviewed the PS31 a few years ago, but it remains a favorite.
$99 for the drill kit is not an unprecedented price, but that doesn’t change my feeling that it’s very, very good. The larger kits are even better bargains, if you want the extra tools and accessories they offer.

this is my go to drill & impact. I rarely pick up my bigger tools anymore.

I’m in the process of moving and will be keeping my Bosch 12V tools in an L-Boxx handy for last minute things like taking apart our bed, my son’s crib, and a few other things. They’re plenty big for that work without being overly bulky. I’ll also be keeping some basic handtools at the ready in another L-Boxx with an assortment of wood and machine screws in a third ready for the first few days in the new place.

i finally got one when they were last going for $99. i practically get the giggles
everytime i use it. i keep looking for things to use it on. still on the first battery.

I just moved into an apartment where several of the walls are masonry, so for putting up heavy mirrors etc I think I’ll need a decent driver. (Never owned one before, I only own a cordless Panny screwdriver and a 30-yr-old AC-powered drill.) Would a 12v driver like the Bosch be sufficient for my masonry walls or should I spring for 18v?
