Bosch DDS182BL Brushless Drill

Over at Amazon, this new Bosch 18V brushless drill (DDS182BL) is priced at $126. Take into account the new $25 off $100 holiday promo, and the price drops to $101 at checkout.

This is a bare tool, so you don’t get a charger or battery pack. But you do get an L-Boxx 2 tool box with a molded tray for the drill.

If you’re looking for a bare hammer drill, then the HDS182BL hammer drill and L-Boxx bundle is $138, or $113 after instant $25 discount at checkout.

If you’re a Bosch 18V users and looking for their latest compact brushless drill/driver, this bundle is hard to pass up. If you don’t already have a battery and charger, then there are a couple of kit options and 18V battery starter kits available.

The DDS182 drill kit, which comes with (2) 2.0Ah batteries and an L-Boxx, is priced at $219 before discount, and $194 after. There is also a kit with no L-Boxx, but it’s priced at $199 and is not eligible for the discount. The HDS182 hammer drill kit is $214 after discount.

There is also a brushed motor drill/driver DDS181 kit that’s priced at $106. That kit comes with a charger, one battery, and an L-Boxx. That’s the same drill that received Editor’s Choice recognition in our recent Best Cordless Drills roundup post.

Not bad, but I’ll wait until they make a brushless drill without the stupid clip on there.

Bosch should sell drill holsters rather than mess up the drills by having a clip screwed onto them.

Are you talking about the belt clip? If so, it’s removable. Can be placed on either side for left/right handed, or just taken off if you don’t want to use it.

Yeah, I know it’s removable, but I don’t want the hole in the side of the drill for the clip to begin with.

I have no idea why some of their drills have this clip and some don’t. I also don’t know anyone who uses a drill that clips it onto their belt upside down.

I don’t know anyone who doesn’t use the clip. I won’t buy a drill if it doesn’t have a clip. In fact I sold my 12v bosch drill set because it didn’t have a belt clip.

I would agree with you on that, I don’t use the belt clips on my Makita’s every day but I do use them often, I wouldn’t buy an 18v kit without the option now but for the 12v I don’t mind not having one, they work well with belt holsters but mostly I use them from a tote.
Oddly this Bosch deal only ships to the UK for the hammer version but even with shipping and taxes it would still be an OK deal.

Bottom line is Bosch, for the price and warranty is better than freaky or any other brand on the market!!!
You know how people say your paying high prices because of name , well here you’re paying for durability,
