Bosch has just announced a new line of high performance Impact Tough accessories that are designed for use with cordless impact drivers. This new line of accessories will include insert and power bits (Phillips, square, Torx), nut setters, socket adapters, sockets, and hole saws.

These new Impact Tough accessories are engineered to take the hit and finish the job!

Bosch Impact Tough Screwdriving Bits

These new bits feature a “torsion zone” that will absorb torque peaks and reduce stress at their tips. The bits will have hardened cores and forged tips for high strength and reliability in high-torque applications.

Bosch Impact Tough Nut Setters & Sockets

Included in the Impact Tough line are a selection of nut setters from 1/4″ to 7/16″ in size, socket adapters in 3/8″ and 1/2″ drive sizes, and sockets 5/16″ to 15/16″ in size. The impact nut setters feature larger brass magentic holders for greater longevity and holding power.

Impact Tough Hole Saws

Bosch is also planning on releasing various sizes of impact capable hole saws early this summer. These thin-walled hole saws are designed to deliver fast, clean holes in metal.

Some of the hole saws’ main selling points will be a dept-rim stop to prevent uncontrolled breakthrough, pilot bit springs for automatic disk ejection, and thin walled construction for quick clean holes. I wonder how these bits will fare against Dewalts similarly designed Impact Ready hole saws…

Initial Launch Details

Bosch will initially launch the Impact Tough family with two sets: a 30-piece general purpose impact screw driving set which will include 18 insert bits, 7 power bits, 1 bit holder, 3 nut setters, and 1 socket adapter; and a 21-piece inser bit set which will include 20 insert bits and a bit holder.

To be honest, we’re a little disappointed that twist drill bits similar to Dewalt’s won’t be included with the launch, but perhaps they’ll come later.

We currently haven’t heard anything about pricing or availability, but we imagine that (as usual) Ohio Power Tool will probably be the first Retailer to carry the new line.

In case you didn’t recognize it, we’re fairly certain the impact driver shown in the first photo is Bosch’s relatively new multi-function Impactor drill driver.

That depth stopper looks neat and clean (of course in the photo only), The DeWALT ones also look the same in the photo, but that is the place they do the welding which is a very messy weld generally. I don’t know if it is possible to somehow clean that weld in another process.
