Bosch GCM12SD Axial-Glide Dual Bevel Miter Saw

Judging by the attention it’s been receiving lately, Bosch’s new GCM12SD Axial-Glide sliding dual-bevel miter saw must have been the crown jewel of their media event. Bosch’s engineers managed to increase the work capacity of this miter saw while shrinking its footprint, making it a compact high-performance monster of a saw.

Bosch’s full press release is on the next page, but also check out what these other blogs have to say about the new saw.

Edit: The saw is now available for sale via Amazon and other retailers.

I would like to see it, but they don’t list when it will be out.

Pricing is estimated to be $699, but there is no official or rough ETA yet.

I just spoke to my Bosch Account Manager and he reckons it will be a year or so before this hits the UK

    Thanks for the info, Neil!

It may be safe to assume that Bosch will release it in North America at about the same time, or sooner.

I like it…but it’s a bit much for the average DIY’er. Now a jobsite might be a different story.

I can see how it might be a lot of tool for a home user, but that arm mechanism is freaking sweet.
Is “revolutionary” too strong of a word?
It’s kind of like a compact radial arm saw…

Thanks for including the tool-rank link. The pictures are pretty good.

oh yeah, how can there be a buzz about this thing a YEAR in advance???

I wonder if they will make it in 10″

Updated the prev. comment to say “or sooner”. Who knows, maybe it will be released earlier here than overseas. If prototypes are already being demoed, the saw is likely in the final stages of testing or even production.

If not revolutionary, I’d say that the new tech is at least evolutionary.

I’d also bet that a scaled-down 10″ version is also in the works as well, if anything to bring the new tech to a more DIY-friendly price.
