Campbell Hausfeld Launches Quick & Easy Inflators

Campbell Hausfeld 120V RP4200 Inflator

In addition to their recent nailer and compressor releases, Campbell Hausfeld is now launching two new inflators. It is claimed that their new 12V and 120V inflators will greatly reduce the amount of time it takes to inflate a tire.

Many people neglect to properly inflate their tires because it’s a hassle. Some gas stations don’t have working air pumps, and even if one is available and is working properly, many drivers just don’t use them. As for inflating tires at home, some drivers have access to an air compressor, but many do not.

Campbell Hausfeld’s new Digiflate system eliminates the need to check tire pressure, inflate, and then re-check the pressure. Simply connect the hose, dial in the desired pressure, and press the inflate button.

The new 12V RP3300 (shown below) has a 10 ft power cord, 2 ft hose, and roadside emergency lights. The 120V RP4200 (shown above) on the other hand is intended for home use and requires the use of an extension card.

While these two inflators are primarily intended for use on tires, they can handle low-pressure items such as sports balls as well.

Both inflators have 3″ gauges that determine existing air pressure, monitor inflation progress, and automatically shut off the unit when the proper dialed-in pressure is reached.

The new inflators are priced at about $75 for the 12V model and $80 for the 120V one. If they’re as “setup and forget” as they seem, and of as high quality as they look, the prices seem reasonable.

My thoughts on this are that it’s a waste. I have a Black and Decker power box and it not only provides me with a jump start but a work light and tire inflator. Something that just inflates tires falls short in my book.

I’m sure it’s loud as hell too

It’s cute. So the wives will buy it like crazy even though it is useless.

@uthscsaedu – It is not very loud at all, less so than an air compressor.

@Flathead Red – The 120V is for standard air inflation, but the 12V does have a flashing red emergency light and LED light for roadside emergencies.

@Rusty – Useless is a bit strong, this is the first air inflator that measures existing PSI and can automatically inflate to desired pressure.

If Stuart is willing, I’ll send a unit to him for first-hand review and he can share his impressions for you.

I’m weary of the unit’s ability to read accurate tire pressures. Something tells me that the traditional method of using a mechanical gauge would provide consistent readings for many years without having to worry about the possibility of the electronics getting bugged out.
