Cool Videos: Laura Kampf Made Her Own EDC Screwdriver and Bit Box

Laura Kampf EDC Screwdriver

I watched an interesting video last week, and then a related follow-up to it this week, and felt compelled to share.

In the videos, YouTube maker Laura Kampf modified a Zippo lighter case into a 1/4″ screwdriver bit box, and then transformed a D-ring shackle and bit holder into a screwdriver keychain.

The videos are pretty inspiring, if not simply entertaining. I like videos like these, especially in today’s “let me just fire up my $5,000 CNC” atmosphere. I don’t have a CNC router or mill. I don’t have a welder either, but the videos inspired me to think of my own EDC screwdriver and bit holder adaptations.

Check ’em out:

I only recently started following Laura, and need to catch up with some of her older videos.

The bit box especially caught my interest, but the keychain-sized screwdriver was also really need. If you make or have made something similar, please let us know!

    Cool

I know lots of folks who carry screwdrivers or small multi-tools on their key rings – but this makes your key ring into a screwdriver.

Looks like a knock-off of the County Comm Screw Key. https://toolguyd.com/county-comms-key-ring-screwdrivers/

Doc Allen’s Versatool has been around for a long while. Uses a pear shaped loop so can get some leverage. https://docallensversatool.com/

True. But Laura’s has a locking bit holder.

Agreed, but I would rather buy this Countrycomm version even with out the locking bit holder, as this EDC is for occasional (in a pinch) situations than a regular go to took, I think the keychain screwdrivers would see more use sans carrying a multitool on your belt.

I have the engineer bit pit holder on my keyring because I’m always switching from PH2 to T25 at work. As seen in a previous article. I appreciate her effort, i might try to recreate her results… although I’ll shy away from attaching a key ring directly to my belt.
