A new Craftsman cordless palm nailer, model CMCN150B, popped up on Lowe’s.
It’s compatible with the Craftsman V20 cordless power tool battery system.
Features include one-handed operation and a multi-blow actuation that allows for faster driving times.

The product description says that it can hold and drive 1-1/2″ to 3-1/2″ nails. There’s a magnetic collet on the drive anvil, for securely holding nails in place.
Craftsman says:
Depend on this mini impact nailer for convenience and maximum accessibility.
As you might know, palm nailers are useful for driving in nails in tight spaces where it’s difficult to swing a hammer or fit a cordless or air nailer.

It’s good to see continued expansion of the Craftsman V20 cordless power tool system. The new palm nailer has been on Lowe’s site for weeks now, and it’s unclear when it will officially launch.

I have the M12 palm nailer and it works well. It’s not very compact, but it still works in many places far too tight to swing a hammer.
I also have the tiny Ridgid air palm nailer. It works great and is about as small as I could imagine this type of tool.
I really think for a battery palm nailer to be as flexible as possible, they should consider tethering the battery separately on a cord, leaving just the nailer to be held. This would make them much more compact.
Hard to tell from a picture, but this Craftsman looks bulkier than the M12 model.

What I am seeing following the link is on the LLH corner of the Lowe’s page is a red circle with a lower case “i”, and the words right below of:
“This item is no longer sold on Lowes.com“
I was curious to see more info on a palm nailer. I’ve not known there was such a thing.

Hence “ETA: TBA.” Lowe’s marks up new releases with “unavailable” and “no longer available” notices. It’s possible this has been delayed, cancelled, or is launching tomorrow.

Palm nailers are sort of a niche item for close quarters work where you cant swing a hammer or fit a nail gun. Traditionally they were pneumatic like most other nailers, but more recently there have been cordless ones, like the Milwaukee M12 2458-20 .
I have been sorta hoping to see a Dewalt version (12v woulda been my pref, but even a 20v with a 1.7ah powerstack battery would be ok), and I’m kinda surprised SBD came out with a Craftsman one first.

That’s an interesting point about Craftsman releasing before Dewalt. Makes me wonder if it’s just an effort to compete with Ryobi’s extensive catalogue – or is it a signal that SBD wasn’t sure this tool was up to level needed to market it as a yellow tool?
I have nothing to base either of my theories on, just speculation.

Same. A 12Max version would probably live in my “these are the tools that go to every job” box simply because of it’s size and versatility. Not as fast as a nailer, but smaller and also don’t need a special tool and nails for each gauge.

We had both Bostich (PN100K) and Senco (PC1195 more compact) pneumatic ones. We tried the Milwaukee (2458-20) – and the guys thought it was too bulky. We also had one for flooring cleats (POWERNAIL CO. 02-PALM001)
Sometimes the guys just relied on manual solutions like this nailing bar useful for reaching in under baseboard heaters or cabinet fronts:
