Craftsman Party Glasses

Craftsman has come out with a couple new branded party items for the 2014 holiday season. These would have been better timed for Father’s Day and barbecue season, but I suppose the holiday and football season are almost as appropriate.

Beer Glasses, Coasters, and Bottle Opener Set

Craftsman Beer Glasses with Bottle Opener and Coasters

With this combo, you get two pint glasses, coasters, and a compact bottle opener. The product description says the materials are “glass, steel, and cardboard,” so you might want to take it easy on the coasters. The coasters don’t look like cardboard, though.

Beer Glasses, Coasters, and Ice Bucket Set

This set gives you four pint glasses, 8 cardboard-looking coasters, and an ice bucket. Or I guess you could use it as a peanut shell bucket.

Tall Shot Glasses Set

$10 for 4 shot glasses is reasonable, and what you could usually expect to pay for Libbey 2oz glasses.

I’m not in love with the vertical branding design, and it would have been better if Craftsman went with different logos for each of the four glasses. Still, you get 4 Craftsman shot glasses for $10, which seems like a good value.

And here’s a reusable tote bag for ferrying snacks and drinks home from the store.

Now that production of everything Craftsman but the pliers has gone to China, I don’t think a lot of folks are going to be showing their Craftsman pride. A quick check of the premium that new USA Craftsman tools versus new Chinese Craftsman tools on eBay tells the story. People are not that interested.

Agreed. I miss the good old days when most Craftsman branded products were American made. I refuse to buy imported Craftsman items.

As Hang Fire has stated looking at people selling American made Craftsman items on EBay and even at higher end pawn shops shows that the USA made variations are worth more and some rather own older USA made tools rather than the new imported items that are so common.

If only more people would pay attention to country of origin maybe Sears would not have choosen the amount of imported suppliers they have.
