Craftsman 309pc Socket Set and Ball Bearing Tool Storage Deals

We came across a couple of more noteworthy deals over at Sears.

First, there’s a new 309 piece mechanics’s tool set that includes 201 sockets and 16 full-polish ratcheting wrenches. The regular price is $400, but the set is currently on sale for $200. The list of full contents shows that there is a mix of 6pt and 12pt sockets.

There’s also a 10-drawer ball-bearing storage combo that is on sale for $280. Or you could just pick up either the top chest or rolling cabinet, both are separately discounted.

We double-checked, and the two small socket sets we mentioned the other day are still on sale for 50%-off as well:

Craftsman 10pc standard 3/8″ socket set
Craftsman 10pc metric 3/8″ socket set

Is this 309 piece set made in the USA?

The sockets, ratchets, and bits? Yes, to the best of my knowledge.

However, I believe the wrenches are made overseas. Notice how they are listed as Craftsman full-polish rather than Craftsman Professional ratcheting wrenches. To me that suggests that they’re not USA-made as the previous ones were.

Those 10-piece sets are also on sale at my local Ace Hardware for the same price.

I don’t know if it’s also on sale at K-Mart, or at any other place Craftsman is now sold.

I got the old version of that set, RP wrenches instead of ratcheting wrenches, pretty happy with it but I’d rather have the ratcheting wrenches at the same price. $200 is an excellent deal, about the same as the old one was closed out at, and a better price than it was ever on sale for.

Craftsman 309 pieces socket set are very good deal. The lowest price I saw was $250 during last Christmas. The set don’t have many useless bits, etc., and no plastic box either. Usually that plastic box is painful to use. I think those 16 ratchet wrenches worth $100 by themselves.
In one word, very good deal.

If it`s not made in the good old USA,im not buying it. That goes for everything I purchase.
