DAP’s Pro Caulk Tool Kit features tools that are claimed to make caulking and sealing quicker, easier, and with less mess, which also means less waste. While this kit won’t magically caulk your bathroom while you sleep, it should certainly help you achieve better looking joints.

The Pro Caulk Tool Kit includes a caulk removal tool, a tool for smoothing larger joints, one for smaller joints, one for tile grouting, and a mini-tool for smoothing joints in difficult to reach areas. Each tool has multiple corners and edges for different profiles, and are made from “DuraFlex,” which we imagine is similar in flexibility and durability to silicone.

To use these tools, apply caulk or sealant to a surface, and then with evenly applied pressure just slide the edge of your selected tool along the joint.

In case you’re wondering, yes, this appears to be the same as the “As Seen on TV” kit.

We’ll reserve our personal take on this tool kit until we’ve had a chance to test it out firsthand. Keep an eye out for the review, which will also feature the DAP 3.0 Kwik Dry sealants that we wrote about a few months ago.

The DAP Pro Caulk Tool Kit is available at The Home Depot in-store and online for $15 with free shipping. The “TV version” is currently ~$17 via Amazon, and includes a small tube of sealant as well.

i agree with the previous comment. the price is kind of steep for cheap plastic. i’ve seen the commercials for them and they seem legit. those pieces remind me of the same thing my wife uses to take the cake batter out of her mixing bowls.

If it’s made out of silicone or a similar soft, flexible, and non-stick material, it will of course cost a bit more than “cheap plastic.”

Simple-shaped silicone bowl scrapers and spatulas start at about $4 and average at about $8 each (at least according to Amazon’s prices). In other words, $15-$20 for three “DuraFlex” tools does not seem to be that unreasonable.

We will soon see whether the tool kit performs well enough to justify its cost.
