Over at Amazon, today’s deal of the day features this Dewalt 20V Max 4-tool cordless combo kit, for $249 $229.
The kit comes with their regular DCD780 drill/driver, DCF885 impact driver, DCS393 non-premium circular saw, and DCL040 LED worklight. The bundle includes a tool bag, charger, and (2) 2.0Ah Li-ion battery packs.

Update: The price is now $229! *Looks over shoulder.* I wonder what prompted the added price reduction!

This is a pretty good deal, but the same combo kit, DCK421D2, was on sale for $229 last June. Well, not exactly. It was also on sale for $249, but last June there was a $20 off $100+ that stacked. This year’s $25 off $100+ discount does not appear to stack on top of the deal price. (Maybe they learned from what happened in June.)
This deal comes around twice a year. As mentioned in the previous deal post, which you might want to look at for the deeper discussion and comments, this deal typically hits in the first 2 days of December, and smack in the middle of June, for Father’s Day.
So I guess it should have easily predictable for this kit to come around again.
$249 is a good price for what you get. Deal ends at 3am ET 12/2/2016 unless supplies run out sooner.

For the same $249, there’s a 3-speed hammer drill and impact driver combo kit, with a better circular saw as the free add-on choice. That option doesn’t get you the LED worklight, but you get higher capacity battery packs. You could also choose a premium reciprocating saw, or other item as the bonus item.
That’s the closest you could get to this deal, and you might even consider it an evenly matched deal, or perhaps an even better one since you get a pricier 3-speed drill and 3Ah battery packs.
If you’ve got a bigger budget, look at Dewalt’s latest brushless drill and impact driver combo, which is $259 – $25 promo = $234. The premium circular saw, DCS391B, is $119, so I’d try to shop around on that.

I’m in the market for a new lion drill with two batteries that works with a trimmer. So, it looks like Dewalt and Ryobi are my main options. This is priced a little higher than I budgeted for just a drill and two batteries, but it sounds like the Ryobi $150 deal doesn’t include very powerful batteries or even solid tools. So is it looking like this or continue to wait for some miracle deal??
