New Dewalt 20V Power Tool Deal at Lowe’s – I’m Not Impressed

Dewalt 20V Max 3pc Cordless Power Tool Combo Kit Deal at Lowes Stores Summer 2025

I came across a new Dewalt cordless power tool combo kit deal at my local Lowe’s store today, and immediately determined it to be an unappealingly poor value.

I let myself hold onto a glimmer of hope that I was wrong, but I’m not.

Let’s take a closer look.

Dewalt DCK330P2 Cordless Power Tool Combo Kit Deal at Lowes Screen Capture

This looks like a brand new Dewalt 20V Max cordless combo kit, model DCK330P2, seeing as how there are few search results at this time. It also looks like it could be a Lowe’s exclusive.

My store had a $419 price sticker on the top box, and they have the same price online.

Lowe’s says that YOU SAVE $30, thru October 29, 2025. $449? I feel that $419 is a stretch for this combo kit, let alone $449.

Here’s what you get:

Dewalt cordless drill (DCD793) – non-XR and non-Atomic entry price point brushless drill

Dewalt impact driver (DCF787) – non-XR and non-Atomic entry price point brushless impact driver

Dewalt circular saw (DCS565) – XR 6-1/2″ brushless saw

2x 5Ah batteries (non-XR)

Compact charger (DCB1102) – you’ll find this one bundled with Dewalt’s “special buy” value-priced combo kits

Lowes Dewalt Free Tool Promo Ending August 2025

Let’s take a look at some other Dewalt 20V Max cordless power tool deals, which are ending soon.

Check out this Lowe’s free Dewalt tool deal. You get the same 5Ah batteries and a decent charger, and can pick (2) FREE tools.

The free gift tool options include the same exact brushless circular saw, and you can pick out either a better XR-series cordless drill, or the top of the line XR-series brushless impact driver.

Buy the 2-Tool Bundle Deal at Lowe’s

Alright, that gets you a 2-tool combo kit for $299. Acme Tools has the same Dewalt 2 free tool promo, also at $299.

Next, if you picked a Dewalt drill kit as one of the free tool options, here’s a good impact driver kit that’s still $99:

Dewalt DCF840D1 Impact Driver Kit at Acme Tools

There’s another impact driver deal that’s still available – Amazon Deal on the 2nd Best Dewalt Impact Driver.

And if you picked the impact driver as one of your free tool options, here are some drill kits that are still at $99:

Dewalt DCD793D1 Drill Kit at Acme Tools
Dewalt DCD784D1 Drill Kit at Acme Tools

The result is a 3-tool combo kit with the same batteries, a better charger, an additional compact 2Ah battery, and you get a stepped-up drill or impact driver, all for $398 at the time of this posting.

You do lose the included tool bag, but get an upgraded drill or driver, additional battery, and an extra $21 still in your wallet or bank account. Can you see why I think $419 is a bad price for the 3-tool combo kit discussed above?

Lowe’s raised prices on their entry level Dewalt drill and impact driver kits, and while other retailers still have them at $99, I’m seeing signs of scarcity, such as “on order” messaging instead of “in stock.”

In other words, alternative deal options are also drying up, so shop quickly.

Dewalt still has plenty of tool promos at Amazon, including a brushless motor cordless drill kit at $99, a brushed motor 2-tool combo kit at $149, and a brushless 2-tool combo kit at $169. It’s uncertain whether those promo prices will also come to an end.

Transparency disclosure: I severely toned down the language in this post so as to avoid [further?] angering the powers-that-be at Dewalt and Stanley Black & Decker. I’ve been critical about some things recently – for good reasons – but in this case I called the new promo “spectacularly bad” and a “bad deal.” I backtracked and reworked the tone so as to avoid ruffling anyone’s feathers. I don’t usually bite my lip like this, and felt compelled to talk about it.

Not sure why you, or SBD, would get upset about this? It’s just another OK priced combo kit at Lowes, who presumably set the price Someone could do better shopping around but it might look good compared to other in store options???

Also what’s the “non XR” battery? Looks like it might be a 2 string 18650 pack.

I read it all back a second time and thought “this will likely lead to a phone call or someone shaking their head tomorrow” and so I softened my take on things a bit.

The batteries are the old 5Ah. These aren’t bad choices, but they contribute to the high price.

We’re not just seeing higher prices – and Dewalt’s company just announced more on the way – but significant changes to kit and combo inclusions.

“It’s not a good time to buy into a cordless power tool system, and I feel this is even more true regarding all of Dewalt’s platforms.”

I agree it isn’t a good time to be starting out with a cordless platform. All the 18v platforms have been around for a while and several brands are toying with higher voltage. Any 18v platform could go legacy without warning. Seems like Makitas already has……

I thought the same thing. I could see Lowe’s might be annoyed that someone is being critical of the prices they set, but I’m struggling to see how SBD fits into the picture.

Naw. Political mendacity. And we all get to suffer together rather needlessly.

I would fully expect the price to drop in a few weeks. This allows any retailer to say how much of a value an item is, even though it was above what it should be.

No, new taxes are hitting the power tool segment.

Expect it to get worse, not better.

How do you say what you want to say without actually saying it? Add it to an addendum. Nice!

I agree. This doesn’t seem like a good value. When the lower end Dewalt tools are sold separately they don’t add up close to $ 419.00. I’d pass on this bundle.

A friend I work with found this exact kit at a Lowes.
They had it priced wrong . He got the last four kits they had for 119.99 each. Then let a couple of us get one from him at cost .
    Lucky day.
