Lowe’s has a very low price on the Dewalt 20V Max 12″ sliding miter saw, DCS785B (tool-only).
At the time of this posting, Acme Tools has it for $699, Home Depot has it for $699, Amazon has it for $699, and Lowe’s has it for… $369?!
If you were in the market for a large Dewalt cordless miter saw, this seems like an “order first, think it over later” type of tool deal.

Update: It looks like Lowe’s changed their mind and raised the price. It could be worth checking back, as Lowe’s sometimes goes back and forth with prices as they did with Flex and Skil earlier this month.
I’m serious – I would treat this as a “buy first, think it over after” type of deal if I were in the market for a Dewalt cordless miter saw.
Not buying one? Let’s talk about it. What do you think is going on here?
According to Lowe’s product page, they have a couple at every store in my area, and over 150 units available online. They sold 100+ miter saws in the past week, but seem to have hundreds and maybe even thousands in stock at stores nationwide.

Amazon says they sold just 50+ in the past month, which isn’t a lot, especially this time of year.
Based on that, my guess is that Lowe’s is trying to clear out inventory ahead of the New Year.

Dewalt has been advertising this saw as being an innovation “award winner,” although frankly I don’t see what’s special.
Dewalt makes good miter saws for construction applications, and they had a decent cordless 12″ sliding miter saw in the FlexVolt line.
I can’t think of any other reason why Lowe’s would be selling this for so much less money than Home Depot or Amazon.
Dewalt seems to have favored Lowe’s over Home Depot with respect to better holiday season deals and promos this year, but I don’t think they would do that with common SKUs like this one. I’ve only seen Dewalt give Lowe’s more favorable pricing when it comes to exclusive cordless power tool models.
Price Comparisons
Dewalt cordless miter saws aren’t my first choice (there’s nothing wrong with them, I just prefer other brands’ designs and engineering), but I’d jump on this in a heartbeat if I were a Dewalt 20V Max user considering a 12″ sliding miter saw.

That didn’t last long. They seemed to have fixed it. The link listed the price as $699
Niels
Seems to be a mistake. I clicked the ling and its 699.
Nathan
Price says 699 now and adding to cart says the same. Didn’t walk in a store though
Curious and new post maybe but what is your favorite mitre saw? Do you have any sort or seen accuracy tests with tuned saws. I assume all out of the box could use tuning or verification
Sam
My store and online 699 too.
Travis
Same here. I checked my local Lowes and asked a manager about it. He thought I was crazy!
Adam
I have a feeling they only meant to mark down the 10″ (non-slider), that both HD & Lowes have marked down to $369.

That’s been priced at $369 for a few weeks. It doesn’t look like the Lowe’s stores near me sold many of those either.

“Based on that, my guess is that Lowe’s is trying to clear out inventory ahead of the New Year.”
It was an error. They had the 12″ at $369 and the 10″ at $699. Prices were reversed.

They cancelled shipping orders last night, and in store pickup items today before store open.

Agree with all. It didn’t last long, it’s $699 now or just a mistake.

It was an error. They had the prices for the 10″ DCS714 and 12″ DCS785 swapped. They have since fixed.
Robert
So did Lowe’s honor the $369 “in-error” price before they corrected it to $699?
