A popular Dewalt organizer deal at Home Depot just went live again, well ahead of Black Friday.
This Dewalt Shallow Pro 10-compartment organizer (DWST14925) is on sale for $12.88, for the 4th holiday season in a row.
The organizer features 10 compartments that can be repositioned or removed as needed, metal latches, and a fixed handle.

It has a clear lid that lets you view your tools and parts at a glance. The lid is also designed to hold the bins and their contents in place.
Multiple organizers can be stacked and latched to each other.
They can also be connected to other organizers in Dewalt’s Pro organizer product line.
Price: $12.88
At the time of this posting, Home Depot is offering FREE shipping for these organizers. This option usually isn’t available; Home Depot’s Dewalt organizer holiday deals are typically only available in-store.

In prior years, Home Depot has switched the organizer deal from free shipping to delivery-from-store, and then ultimately in-store purchasing. Free in-store pickup is also an option.
Should You Buy One?
If you’re on the fence, maybe buy two.
Just about every year, I buy a pair of whatever Dewalt organizers are on sale for the holiday season, put them to use, and very quickly wish I had bought more.
The Shallow Pro organizer complements the Dewalt Deep Pro organizers I bought in earlier years, and I’ve come to prefer it.
These Dewalt organizers are durable, convenient, and at this price they’re a fantastic value.
There are better shallow organizers out there, but not at anywhere close to this price point.

We have about 60 of these, although very limited shallow models. Love them for inventory plumbing fittings (small diameter) and spares and non-inventory fasteners.
Pro-tip: mix and match with the identical Craftsman organizers so your bins are color coded (red for stainless steel, etc).
We have 4 brands: Dewalt (yellow), Stanley (yellow), Craftsman (red), and Maximum (Canadian Tire brand – grey). They’re all identical except for some reason the mold on the grey maximum bins is slightly different, meaning I have to modify the bins slightly if I want to put them in other brands containers.
I find the color coding to be super helpful when grabbing stuff quickly.

Stanley Black & Decker makes these organizers for their brands. I haven’t seen the Craftsman yet, but know the Dewalt and Stanley to be built alike.
SBD does not manufacture these for other brands; other brands commission copycat designs from other OEMs.

You’re probably right Stuart, but it doesn’t seem implausible to me that SBD MIGHT be making the organizers for Maximum given the relationship between SBD and Canadian Tire.
Maximum and Mastercraft are Canadian Tire house brands in Canada. For the most part, Mastercraft tools are made by Stanley and Maximum by Apex – but there has been some blurred lines between those brands historically.
Up to a couple years ago, for example, SBD was making the non-ratcheting combination wrenches under Maximum branding (then the wrenches didn’t change, but the branding did and they became Mastercraft tools). Go back far enough and Maximum used to be called “Mastercraft Maximum” until Canadian Tire decided to draw a sharper distinction between the brands.
Also, just because SBD and Apex are making the tools doesn’t mean they’re identical to offerings from Stanley and Gearwrench (though they often appear that way). There are sometimes subtle differences and Canadian Tire could be spec’ing their tools to a lower quality to get to a (typically) lower retail price point.

I would think that if SBD were making the organizers for Maximum then they’d be mechanically identical. The molds used to make these organizers are terrifically expensive, it wouldn’t make any sense for SBD to make additional molds when they already have the one(s) used to make Dewalt, Stanley, etc. If SBD were making them for Maximum it would be a lot cheaper to just shoot a different color plastic into their existing molds like they do for their brands. The fact that the Maximum branded ones are similar but don’t quite match up without modification suggests they were made on a reverse-engineered mold rather than an original. I’d bet that a close examination of the parts would show differences in the shape and location of subtle details like gates and ejector pin marks.

Sorry I jumped the gun a little this morning (it was early is my excuse).
The Stanley and the Dewalt are identical other than stickers.
The Maximum are different and I had to slightly modify the height of the grey bins to make my color scheme work – which I was frustrated by because I only bought those ones to add an additional color. As mentioned by Jared and others, they are different in other ways too. However, they do stack together with the same little clips, although I don’t find that stacking very useful (kinda flimsy) for the most part. If I remember, the Maximum ones were actually the most expensive (and more flimsy than the SBD).
The Craftsman have identical bins (red, same mold) but those came with the case that has the external folding handle and therefore holds more bins (maybe 13? I don’t remember and I’ve got them all mixed up now). This external handle has advantages and disadvantages: you can hold more which is good when things aren’t too heavy, but for fasteners this is counterintuitive because the weight gets crazy. The other thing is my van shelving has aluminum shelves that came with 30 of the Dewalt deep organizers, so they don’t fit the Craftsman cases.
I also have some Stanley bins that have the external handle, but I don’t think I have any from Dewalt..

I should also mention that we have loaded ours up with 3D printed dividers because while the large size bins are great for some things (a box of screws, pvc fittings), they are too big for other things (specialty screws where we’re only going to buy 50-100, tube fittings, etc).
We’ve done the same with our Packout organizers – for us, volume is a big deal for both our small shop and service vehicles, so getting the most out of the space, while it takes some initial investment (money AND time), it makes our operation more efficient for techs and hopefully our customers.
One of our projects (not yet started) is to make a virtual map (spreadsheet) of all our bins with all our contents. For the moment, we rely on labels and the old noggin.

How do these compare to the old discontinued Milwaukee ones (that people thought were made by Keter)? I have a few of those and really like them. These are much cheaper (and available).

I liked the Milwaukee better than the Dewalt Deep Pro organizer. It held more stuff, due to having an external folding handle vs fixed handle with empty space recess.
But, the Milwaukee cost more – twice as much when comparing lowest deal price to lowest deal price.
Milwaukee never launched a shallow organizer like this one.
Dewalt’s shallow (and deep) organizers are decent year-round, but unbeatable at this sale price.

I have so many of the deep pro and shallow pro stacked up and waiting to be used. One of my winter projects is building at least one (maybe two) carts that can roll under a workbench to hold them all. I love these and might have to add even more to the stockpile at these prices. This is the only time of the year when the prices are this good.

Bought a few last year. Even at the sale price they JUST okay considering that SBD does not sell additional bins for the shallow box and the lid does not have a seal like the deep boxes.
It’s surprising that SBD does not sell bins for those boxes when it sells bins for the deep boxes. Those boxes are intended for smaller parts and two large bins are wasting space (at least for me).
So NO more small DEWALT boxes for me untill SBD decides to sell individual bins and put seals on the lids.

One question. What is the best way to remove that sticker?

Occasionally, that sticker comes off with only a slow, steady pull, but not always. I normally use a heat gun to help release the sticker adhesive.
Considering that the cover is clear polycarbonate, I am always careful, using only gentle heat, which I apply to the inside surface (goal is to soften the adhesive near the plastic, not near the sticker). A hair dryer might be even better than a heat gun. I have de-stickered about a dozen of those organizers and haven’t cracked a lid yet.

I de-stickered 5 brand new ones, and 2 old ones today. All the new ones came off cleanly with gentle heat (tried heating inside vs. outside and honestly didn’t see much difference). However, the 2 that have been sitting around for a year or two? Total goo disaster, regardless of how much heat I applied, or where I applied it. I had to resort to soaking with orange degreaser, then scraping with a plastic tool and my fingernail to get the adhesive off. I think the key is to get the sticker off immediately before the adhesive has a chance to harden and bond with the clear plastic lid.

Peel the best you can, then use Goo Be Gone on the residue. It works great at removing the residue. WD-40 also works great at removing residue, but leaves a smell.
GBG, I think is non-toxic, but otherwise washes off easily with dish soap and water…for stickers on food stuff like cookie sheets…etc

Goo Gone is made using petroleum distillates (similar to naptha or paint thinner) and definitely toxic. Don’t use it without good ventilation and be careful not to get it on your skin/eyes/mouth. Basically treat it similar to mineral/white spirits.

Does the decal on the middle peel off easily? I have a older set of Husky storage and whomever thought of a decal that won’t peel off and covers 50% of the storage area, is just an idiot.
Also, does this one attach to Toughsystem boxes? or the other system?
While I’m complaining, those latches are hard on those with arthritis as I watched my dad try to open to put old wood screws inside.

Can’t address the Toughsystem question, but the label isn’t great. Some of it came up without a hassle, but I would definitely recommend a heat gun or hair dryer for the best results.

I ordered one and it was delivered damaged – I’m shocked at how inconvenient Home Depot made the replacement process is for an item ordered online and delivered. Their initial suggestion was to bring the item back to a store which negates the convenience of online ordering. Their alternative was to have it picked up by a store’s delivery team, wait for the refund, then place a separate new order. For all of Amazon’s issues, they makes replacements extremely simple and convenient. This was definitely a HD turn off for me.

It’s a sad shame that the price jumped from the old 10.00 price, but more so that price used to be for the deep box, with a seal. Why they don’t include a seal on the slim one, I’ll never understand.

This has 10 compartments/bins. Others have more. Modifications or accessories (3D printed dividers, inserts, reclosable plastic bags) are needed to improve the versatility for use with smaller parts.
The handle is fixed, rather than folding, and that takes up a lot of real estate that could instead be used for more more bins or compartments.
The Dewalt is great for $12.88.

I doubt they’ll return to the deeper organizers for holiday promos – these have been selling well year after year, and stores also have ToughSystem organizers on the holiday deals and gifts sales floor.

Am I showing my age when I say I remember the deep ones being $9.99 on black friday? These are useful and I will probably pick up a bunch more. Very useful while the deep ones have a lot of wasted space in a lot of cases!

Not at all. Wish I had bought more at the $9.99 price point. None of the four I have are empty. Nails, screws, bolts, washers, wire nuts, etc. This extra piece from a toilet repair or lock switchout or some extra gasket or seal from a car repair. Always full, 100% useful.

I screwed up a couple of years ago, saw this same promo and got excited and ordered 4 thinking they were the deep ones. Shallow ones showed up and I think I kept 2 and returned 2. Not that the shallow ones are bad, but I find them far less useful in a general sense than the shallow ones.

If you work with small diameter (1” or less) plumbing fittings, the deep ones are fantastic.
For some reason, they trump Packout with the geometry of the bins for a lot of things, although I prefer Packout for all types of hardware.
The shallow bins are ok but there’s a lot of competition, although nothing that good and that cheap at the same time.
We have 50+ of the deep ones and love them.

Pack out is great but all the latching stuff makes it hard to see through the lid if you have a bunch with similar things.
