Dewalt has recently introduced a new 17″ roller tool bag, model DG5570, alongside an also-new LED-lit backpack.
The new roller tool bag features large wheels, a telescoping handle, large interior pocket, 6 interior pockets, and 11 outside pockets for all your tool-storage and organizing needs.
There are also padded carrying handles for when you need to quickly move the bag without rolling it, such as up and down stairs or to and from your truck. It looks like there are plastic feet to help keep your bag stable and clean.
A nice touch is the zippered flap that folds up to provide quick and clear access to tools. Plus, it magnetically attaches to the telescoping handle to help ensure it stays out of the way.
The bag measures 17″ wide by 12.5″ tall by 9.5″ deep.
As with the new backpack, it looks like CLC (Custom LeatherCraft) also makes the rolling tool bag for Dewalt. There is a difference though – the CLC version comes with an LED handle module. There could be other minor differences, but the LED module is the most glaring one.
The CLC bag is also priced at around $100.
A Note About Dewalt Tool Bags
I like ’em. I have a ~16″ boxy Dewalt tool bag that I bought years ago, and it continues to serve me well. Stanley and Stanley FatMax also make decent bags, but they’re generally smaller.
I can’t vouch for this one (yet?), but I have a good feeling about it. It essentially looks like my Dewalt tool bag, but with wheels and an extending handle.
If you want to spend a little less, check out Husky’s rolling tool bags at Home Depot. I’ve seen a couple of maintenance techs travel around with Husky roller bags, and they always look well-used but in great shape.
