Dremel Moto-Saw Oscillating Hand Saw

Over at Amazon, the Dremel Moto-Saw, which is a convertible powered coping saw and scroll saw, is on sale today for just $55. The typical price is around $100.

The Moto-Saw is an interesting and unique tool that’s perfect for DIYers. It can clamp to a table so you can hold your work with two hands, or you can remove the saw and bring it to larger or clamped-down workpieces.

I didn’t even know these existed. I could see the Boy Scout dads going crazy over this. With this and your standard Dremel tool, you could knock out 15 pinewood derby cars in one weekend! Then you could just take your pick!

I personally hate using standard coping saws. This could actually add some enjoyment to that part of it. Who would’ve thought?!

Has anyone used one of these for coping trim/molding? And how well did it work?

I saw this when it was first announced – and gave it a few seconds thought for use as a coping tool – then dismissed it as looking too big and unwieldy for that purpose. I too would also be interested to hear from anyone who has actually used it- so I might change my thoughts.

What we did use regularly were the Collins coping foot mounted to older Bosch barrel grip jigsaws:
