Festool has a Free 18V Battery Promo, But Only in the UK

Festool Free 18V Battery Promo

Festool looks to have a new free battery pack promo, but there’s a huge catch – it’s only available overseas.

I occasionally peak at Festool’s overseas product pages to see if there’s anything new, and came across a new Festool UK promo.

With this deal, you buy a Festool 18V cordless power tool, and you get a free battery included in the Systainer tool box.

Festool Free 18V Battery Promo Partial Selection Screen Capture

There’s a huge selection of eligible tools, with this screen capture showing just a fraction of them.

But it’s NOT available here in the USA. Why not?

I have all but sworn off of Festool tools and accessories for various reasons, but there are still a couple of items on my wishlist that I might be convinced to splurge on.

A free battery might not seem like a lot, but it’d be a lot more appealing than spending full price and getting nothing extra.

You get a free 4Ah, 5Ah, or 3Ah Ergo battery, depending on what you buy.

Festool UK says that it’s only available at participating dealers and while stocks last. Does anyone know of a participating dealer that’ll ship to the USA?

They say the deal will end on October 11th, 2024, while supplies last.

Maybe a similar promo is planned for the USA? If enough people ask, they’d have to do it, right?

I have corded Festool tools so this is not against the brand. I bought those because the tool was unique at the time (domino, track saw) and/or for indoor use where dust control is important to me.

I don’t have cordless Festool tools. The battery platform seems to be average at best. If a duct collection hose is attached then a power cord isn’t really an issue. If the tools aren’t exceptional there is no reason to pay a premium price.

I will stick with Dewalt and Milwaukee for cordless. Nothing about Festool cordless tells me to add another battery platform.

“Does anyone know of a participating dealer that’ll ship to the USA?”

The only UK tool dealer that I regularly deal with is Axminster Tools – and they do not ship Festool products to the US. That may be an enjoinder that Festool imposes on their UK authorized dealers.

BTW – if you’re an Agatha Christie fan and plan to motor down to Torquay from London – the Axminster Tool Store is a nice stop.
