BladeHQ is giving away a FREE Bestechman Goodboy Jr button-lock folding knife with every order of at least $165 – while supplies last.
Based on the product page for the same knife in different colors, it looks like the Goodboy Jr has an approximate retail value of $50.
I’m not familiar with the brand, or this model. I don’t think I’d buy this particular folding knife, but free is free if you’re buying a bunch of knives, multi-tools, flashlights, or other related EDC gear.

$165 minimum?! That’s both an easy and difficult price target to reach. The new Leatherman Wave Alpha, which features a MagnaCut blade, is $200. A lot of top folding knives can exceed that dollar value, especially USA-made.
We’re still over a week away from Black Friday. If I recall correctly, BladeHQ always has different freebies for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. I say this because I’m fairly confident you can pass on this and still get in some other good freebie deals soon.
But if you know what you plan to buy – whether one really good multi-tool or folding knife or lots of more affordable ones – and this Goodboy Jr strikes your fancy, go for it.

Personally, I like the color but the overall knife seems a bit generic to me. I’d pass, but figured I shouldn’t let my bias stop me from sharing.
Following are some gift or upgrade ideas that caught my attention when writing up the previous deal post.

If you want more recommendations, now or next time, give me some criteria, such as regarding blade style, opening design, handle material, or even price point.
Similarly, I’m open to review ideas – is there anything you want me to check out for 2026 review or hands-on post consideration?

I think it actually looks pretty good. Maybe an “eye of the beholder” thing, but that “generic” shape is also just a generally useful design. E.g. a drop-point with a high flat grind like that should be very slicey. A crossbar lock is probably my favorite too. Deep carry clip is nice.

I also like it, for the same reasons. The blade and handle shape are visually pleasing to me and the crossbar lock makes it so easy to open and close with one hand. Would prefer a different color if I was buying – maybe orange handle?.

It’s a decent brand for under $50. I’ll just point out that’s a crossbar lock rather than a button lock, which is arguably better.
