Gearwrench Mini Tool Box GWBXMINIS

Gearwrench has launched their own new mini tool box, model GWBXMINIS.

The new Gearwrench mini tool box features 2 drawers and a top lid compartment, and is adorned in their iconic orange and black color scheme.

Gearwrench says that the small tool box is built with a “quality 20 gauge steel body” and 22 gauge steel drawers.

You get “quality ball bearing slides that increases durability” for both drawers, and a “no-flop quality hinge” for the top compartment.

It is for “multiple applications not limited to hand tools,” as we’ve seen with other brands.

The tool box also has a “hang hook to work with most roller tool cabinets with a ledge,” and a special feature that allows hands-fee [sic] applications.”

Price: $24.27

Buy it at Acme Tools

One of these days I’m going to have to a roundup of all of the mini tool boxes that are now available.

This is a juiced-up Workpro mini toolbox I assume. At least it certainly looks very similar – but I think the Workpro has friction slides and a different color scheme.

That’s not a criticism, just an observation. I think the Workpro-branded version is ugly. Gearwrench did a much better job. I really like that textured finish. I don’t know that you need ball-bearing slides at this size, but why not?

That two-tone look is pretty cool compared to HF and Kobalt.

I like this. Wrinkle finish and ball bearings, might have to get one just because.

“2 gauge” is a typo for 12 gauge right? I cannot imagine they used quarter inch thick drawer stock.

Even 12 gauge would be very heavy for the drawers. It’s likely missing a digit after the two, so 20something gauge.

      Sorry, 22 gauge.

That makes a lot more sense.

If it were lockable…I could use this. And at work (theme here is Orange and Black)…to have adapters for computer users in a neat box with drawers.

Pre-ordered 2 from you link, Stuart! Looks like delivery-shipping is near Mid-April.

I got concerned for a moment. Saw your comment on my phone without context, and my mind jumped to the $30K Gearwrench tool box and hand tool combo I also just posted about. I thought I was going to have to email you to talk you down from it!

Ha! “pre-ordered 2” would have been pretty funny for us who were only observers.

My kids got the Kobalt boxes 2 Christmas-es ago, and they were fine but obviously cheaply made. This Christmas they got the Harbor Freight (US General?) ones and I have to say, pretty nice! Made me want one. Massive increase in quality from Kobalt and made me think about use cases. Anyhow, my $0.02.
