Harbor Freight Icon Tools Coupon September 2025

Harbor Freight kicked off a new sale on Icon tools where the more you buy, the more you save.

Save 15% on 2 Icon tool purchases, 20% on 3, or 25% on 4 or more. The discount excludes Icon tool storage products, diagnostics tools, creepers, and seats.

Oh, and this is in-store early and “while supplies last.” If there was something you were meaning to buy, you might want to make time to visit your local Harbor Freight store sooner than later.

Icon Tools Display at Harbor Freight Store in 2025

My local Harbor Freight store has an Icon tools table right at the front entrance where you walk in. This is what I saw over Labor Day weekend – I can’t tell if it’s been there, or if they set it up for this new sale.

I almost picked up a couple of things, but the prices were much higher than they’ve been, and the 10% Labor Day coupon wouldn’t have helped enough. This buy more, save more sale has me almost convinced to drop everything and head back there.

Harbor Freight Icon Tools Coupon Code for September 2025

The deal ends on September 14, 2025, but I expect for Harbor Freight’s Icon tools inventory to be wiped out by then.

I saw this on Harbor Freight’s social media last night, and was actually excited.

Imagine that, being excited about a Harbor Freight Icon tools coupon promo. Being excited to head to Harbor Freight? It was only a few years ago that Harbor Freight was just a “I need it for cheap” retailer of last resort.

Told you so. (See Do Not Underestimate Harbor Freight Tools)

A few years ago (¿2019?, jeesh), I bought the annual membership and waited for the deals to get all my big ticket items I wanted like a generator and welding cart. Haven’t had a need for anything but a single tool here and there since. Most recent thing I’ve bought were Pittsburg e-torx sockets for my Toyota and a plastic caliper and mini tape measure to keep on me when I go to trade shows and need specs on something.

Already have the knockoff knipex pliers (both types), the folding icon ratchet clamshell set.

Wondering how many others are out there that just don’t really /need/ or want anything from HF due to having most of the good stuff already? lol

You can never tell when you might need something. I always check out the coupons in my email. The other day, my daughter and her husband wanted to borrow my John Deere lawn tractor and trailer to move dirt around in their yard, but we needed a way to get it up into their van. (Yes, we put a John Deere in the back of a Chrysler Pacifica) They went to HF to look at ramps, and I texted her the 10% off coupon from my email. When you need something, it’s always handy to have a coupon.

What are you seeing at HF with “much higher prices”? They’ve definitely cut back on some discounts lately but I haven’t noticed any change in list prices.

And I wouldn’t worry about a 25% coupon causing empty shelves at HF Lol.

Icon bearing driver. It’s $130, internet says it was very recently $90.

10% off would have been $117. 25% off brings it to $97.50, which might be close enough. With HF, cutting back on coupon offers is a akin to raising prices.

lol? You haven’t been to a Harbor Freight store following a low-restrictions Icon tool sale, have you?

I probably have been to HF after an Icon sale but rarely go down the mechanics tool aisles. Will take a look either this weekend or next.

That was great! I picked up about four extra sets, for my Mom’s house, and for travelling…was hard to beat that!

Yes, that 40% sale gets run quite often. This buy more save more is troubling. Might not see that 40% off again.

I’m pretty sure they’ve done this 25% one before, or at least one really similar.

Yes, but was that before or after the new tariffs went into effect?

Now more than a half-decade into their upmarket push, it’s interesting to go back and read the comments under that 2020 article about HF.

I will admit, HF seems to have had more success than I expected. Or at least, faster success. Can’t see their financials, but my local store is slammed every weekend, and I can see their Icon line get picked off every time there’s a sale.

I’m mostly impressed with how they’ve been iterating their stores into subtly better look and feel. The old “Harbor Freight Smell” no longer hits you like a wall when you walk in. In my store, like above, they have a stand-up Icon display right at the front. There are new display endcaps for their fake brands throughout the store (Quinn, etc).

Their new house brands have better shelf appearance. There’s a lot of “Bauer” red which pops on the shelf. They’ve also updated the paint on the remaining older type items. For example, their small stationary power tools are more discrete black and gray instead of whatever mishmash of colors their Chinese ODMs offered them by default.

Their stores have always seemed surprisingly clean and well organized to me. With the new stock, endcaps and layout it’s surprising how it increasingly feels like a “real” store and not a seedy dollar store for tools.

That said, I personally find myself shopping there less and less. As their prices have increased, a lot of their stock has been pushed closer in price to established brands. I already have bought into other tool lines from those, and they haven’t tempted me away.

But if I were starting out with nothing, the Icon line would be mighty tempting especially on sale. I’ve seen enough tests (such as the Torque Test Channel) to convince me that they’re a genuinely good deal, and the ability to look at items and return them to a physical store has real upsides.

One thing I noticed is that every employee is really helpful, or programmed to ask the customer if any help is needed.
Stores are clean, and I usually find what I need (packing blankets, plastic drop cloths, nitrile gloves, zip ties, cutoff wheels, straps for moving…lol…reads like a Dexter show) and yeah, prices did go up. But some stuff is still way cheaper than the big warehouse stores.

There’s definitely still stuff that is a better deal. I was at the BORG the other day, feeling absolutely appalled at their prices for chip brushes. If I’m doing a bunch of painting, I’m making an HF trip.

But I’ve gotten burned on a lot of consumables from HF in the past – sandpaper that’s good for a few swipes, batteries with 1/4 the expected lifespan, tape that doesn’t stick. So unless it’s something where I truly don’t care about durability or performance I tend to stick to better quality brands.

Agreed, the GM and one of the other employees have been like “Hey! How’s it going?” when they see me at the local grocery store (rural town of 5000+/- people), and are pretty positive ppl.

Yeah. I buy the occasional thing there but I find it’s almost always their older items that probably aren’t going to stick around much longer.

Like the 1000lb garden cart is still a decent deal at $90, but it’s going out of stock and the next one up is almost the price of a Gorilla, while being lower quality.

Honestly I’m buying tekton before I buy hf icon pretty much everyday and twice of Sunday?

But if I have to have something right now like say a t27 bit to pull a screw out of a rotor. I’m probably going to AutoZone advance O’Reilly’s first.

I purchase items here, I think they have great value prices. Harbor freight is a great place to buy tools when you are starting a machanical career. And there is a lot of selection for all trades. Thanks Harbor freight for your low pricing.

It very much pays to shop around. Harbor freight has it’s gems, but it also has some misses as well.

Winches, the badlands apex 12,000 is nearly in a class of it’s own at the normal $600-700, and goes on sale often. But their selection of 5000 pound or less is easily outmatched by any other chinese-reseller. any 2000, 3000, 4000, or 5000 pound winch from other Amazon brands will come with a synthetic line and fairlead, dual wired and wireless remote, and a mounting plate, all for cheaper than harbor freight winch with a steel cable, one wired remote, and no mounting plate.

Their hand tools are definitely moving up market, but the house-brand stuff is nearing name brand prices in a lot of cases. So the main benefit is the warranty.
