Hilti ProKit Tool Box 2026 Expansion

Hilti has shared their special influencer media kit with us – here’s a first look at their ProKit modular tool storage options and accessories.

Most notably, Hilti ProKit drawer tool boxes are included in the second wave.

Featured, pricing, and availability details were not provided.

Hilti ProKit Single Drawer Tool Box PKD 61-1 XL

Hilti ProKit PKD 61-1 Single Drawer Tool Box

Features include:

  • Store and transport larger tools and materials with the single XL drawer
  • Drawers can be used as a base

This is an “XL drawer with a single compartment.”

I wonder if the new Hilti ProKit drawers have any weather or dust resistance.

Hilti ProKit Triple Drawer Tool Box PKD 61-21 XL

Hilti ProKit PKD 61-21 XL Triple Drawer Tool Box

Features for the 3-drawer tool box include:

  • Store and transport smaller materials and hand tools with the three drawers
  • Drawers can be used as a base

Are dividers included?

Do the drawers actively lock? What other ProKit drawer tool boxes can we expect in the future?

It looks like Hilti borrowed the locking retention design from Ridgid (see New Ridgid Pro Gear Drawers Tool Box – Teaser).

Hilti ProKit Half Width Tool Box PKC 18-H

Hilti ProKit PKC 18-H Half Width Tool Box

Here’s what Hilti shared about the ProKit half-width tool box:

  • Autolatch – quickly access your tools while preventing spills
  • One-handed operation: stack and unstack ProKit cases with only one hand
  • Jobsite ready: Impact resistant and IP 65 rated
  • Large 15 liter capacity with dividers

Hilti ProKitHalf Width Organizer PKO 8-H

Hilti ProKit PKO 8-H Half Width Organizer

A half-width organizer was expected. Featured include:

  • Autolatch – quickly access your tools while preventing spills
  • One-handed operation: stack and unstack ProKit cases with only one hand
  • Jobsite ready: Impact resistant and IP 65 rated
  • Fully customizable half-width organizer

Hilti ProKit Crate Tool Box PKC 37-O

Hilti ProKit PKC 37-O Crate Tool Box

Hilti says the new crate allows for quick access or storage of items that require ventilation.

Here are the features:

  • One-handed operation: stack and unstack ProKit cases with only one hand
  • 30 liter open crate capacity

Hilti ProKit Dolly PKR 4

Hilti ProKit PKR 4 Dolly

The new ProKit dolly features 4 wheels.

Hilti specifies that this is for indoor transportation.

There’s no load rating.

I wish it had a foot brake for easy stacking and removal of ProKit tool boxes, similar to what Milwaukee came up with.

Hilti ProKit Cordless Vacuum VC 2-22 PK

Hilti ProKit VC 2-22 PK Cordless Vacuum

The cordless vacuum can “fully integrate” in a ProKit tool box stack. I assume it’s powered by a Nuron 22V battery. Can it fit all of them, even the new ones?

Features include:

  • Can be placed and used anywhere in the storage and transportation system
  • Extendable hose & easy access accessories stored on the VC
  • Manual filter cleaning lever and eco mode functionalities
  • Comes with a flat wet/dry filter and electronic water cut-off, enabling straight-away usage without any adjustments or additional purchases

Suction power?

As it can handle wet pickup, is there a drain?

Size or length of the hose?

Dust collection capacity?

Hilti ProKit Cordless Dust Extractor VC 4X-22 PK

Hilti ProKit VC 4X-22 PK Cordless Vacuum

This one’s interesting – it’s a cordless dust extractor (Hilti’s words), but can also serve as a base for half-width ProKit tool boxes.

It looks a lot like a Milwaukee Packout prototype that I saw a few years ago at a Pipeline media event, except that one didn’t have a built-in vacuum.

Features include:

  • Most powerful cordless compact dust extractor in its class
  • Automatic filter cleaning for continuous suction performance
  • Compact and versatile – can change mobility concept and tank capacity with modular tanks

While “most powerful in its class” sounds mighty, they don’t specify the suction power or performance level.

I don’t understand the “change mobility concept and tank capacity” part – is the rolling base separate and not a permanent part of the Hilti ProKit dust extractor?

Can the vacuums can be activated via Bluetooth or tool remotes?

Our Pick: Milwaukee Packout

This was all the information that Hilti provided us with. If you have any questions, maybe Hilti’s influencer partners, who attended an exclusive event and have reviews up on social media, can help.

I appreciate your tone. I guess the details you’d typically share aren’t important if everything will be posted about with hyperbolic enthusiasm and five stars. Has Hilti’s target market changed or did they outsource marketing to a PR firm whose only move is to go the influencer route? When you reference their influencer event, are these people who seem to be in the trades with big social media followings or some other group? I got rid of all my social media several years ago so I’m not in the loop on this anymore…

This is more than they were able to provide last time, or in the past 2 years since, and so I truly am appreciative.

It wasn’t a priority for them to share more than this with me, and so it’s not a priority for me to pursue deeper insights at this time. I’ll leave that to the influencers they’re paying or prioritizing.

Looks like Milwaukee Packout and Klein ModBox combined. The vacuum appears to be a near copy of Milwaukee the front latching matches klein. This could be good if there is a ritical mass of componets and avaibility, which I doubt will happen.

I noticed that this one, among the other brands, have that 45 degrees corners, the draws can be at least 2-3 inches larger without it. A waste of space in my opinion

So do we get black versions of these boxes in the states…?

No. But Hilti is the reason why Milwaukee Packout cannot be red in Europe.

If I am not mistaken, it is the only system that has side mounting ability w/o any adapter. It uses the hinge rod, 1/4″ metal, to latch into receptacle on the hand truck. I was impressed with the first wave, with how clean/simple things look. Not so much with the second wave. It looks too busy and lack similarity / ADN. Without the name brand and the color, they could be passed as any of those store brand system.

      I’m really disappointed too.

I was holding off on buying more Milwaukee Packout drawer tool boxes, but the ProKit options just don’t look good to me. Their lidded tool box drawers are superb. I wish the same was true here, but maybe looks are deceiving.

Well at least they have drawers, and multiple bases for mobility….unlike Makita ,that “fits under bed cover” and nothing else lol.
Having a powered unit at the base is smart on several levels…..whether a vacuum, air compressor, power station or etc?
It keeps gravity in place, while keeping tools up higher.
    I built a Ridgid vacuum in 21′ and a Ryobi compressor in ’20 …in packout’s rolling boxes.
About the time I get everything nice, packout releases a better mousetrap.

I thought I saw on an Instagram post that they had a new cordless Slurry vacuum for coring. I know they have their corded unit, but this one looked cordless. I have not seen any announcements about it though. Have you heard anything Stu?

They have something they’re calling a “cordless water tank,” and a “self-propelled collector system” but the info provided didn’t make much sense. I’ll take another look.

Hilti is able to release drawers, rolling dolly, and accessories before Makita who introduced Maktrak over a year ago. I bought into the entire Maktrak setup, but starting to get annoyed with lack of options. Maktrak is great for storing tools in truck or job site, but need something i can wheel around when working on interior finishes

That’s because Hilti seems to be working with Keter, the same company that makes Ridgid Pro Gear tool boxes and others.

Makita built MakTrak from scratch with no head start.
