Dewalt DCF860 Cordless Impact Driver Deal at Home Depot Summer 2025 Hero

Home Depot looks to have a really good deal on Dewalt’s new top cordless impact driver, model DCF860.

At the time of this posting, Home Depot has the tool-only Dewalt 20V Max DCF860 impact driver for $219, and a starter kit with charger and 6Ah battery for $199. That’s where their “$418 value” comes from.

It’s not a cheap charger either – the starter kit comes with Dewalt’s 6A charger which tends to sell for a premium by itself.

Dewalt DCF860 Cordless Impact Driver Bundle Deal

For what seems to be a limited time, Home Depot is selling the bundle for $199.

That seems like a great price to me.

Dewalt recently launched a new kit featuring the same impact driver – see Dewalt Launched a New XR Impact Driver Kit.

Dewalt tool retailers also still have the PowerPack 8Ah kit for $269.

The tool-only is selling for $219 at authorized dealers, although there are various promos going on right now – such as this one. Lowe’s has a deal where you buy a 2-battery starter kit for $299 and can choose 2 free tool gifts with the DCF860 as one of the options.

This seems to be a great deal and the least expensive way to get started with the same XR impact driver, at least from an authorized dealer.

If you’re willing to spend more, I think that the $269 kit is a good way to get a PowerPack battery. The $299 promo at Lowe’s is a fantastic value, and you can choose another premium XR brushless tool as the second free gift.

How do you feel about the DCF870? I also see it for $219 (no battery model DCF870B)…

I need to test it more. I really enjoy using the DCF860. In no uncertain terms it’s among the best impact drivers I’ve ever tested.

I’d wait on a hydraulic driver, as I’m pretty sure Milwaukee is going to update their M18 Surge now that Dewalt has entered the ring.

Is the DCF860 tool connect chip capable?

Ever notice the “epoxy grey” accent creeping into the Dewalt color scheme? Started off with the 20V BL blower and went to the powerstack. Now this impact seems to have it. Metallic isn’t bad and they could have gone darker, but I think the grey is ugly and makes the brand look a little cheapy.

I noticed it on the Powerstack & Powerpack batteries first. Also the DCD1007 drill has that color on part of the clutch adjustment collar. I don’t have a problem with the color choice on the tools, and I think the newer batteries look pretty good.
One thing that I did notice a few years ago was that Dewalt sometimes uses silver-colored plastic parts where older/other versions of that kind of tool used aluminum castings instead. That does feel a bit cheap to me because it seems like they’re trying to trick people into thinking the parts are metal while in reality they are not.

Lowe’s also have two cheaper variations of the $299 deal you mentioned.

    For $199 you can get:
    – Two 4 Ah batteries (no charger), and one free gift (not two).
    – One 8 Ah batteries (no charger), and one free gift (not two).

If you don’t need yet another charger, only want/need just one free gift, and have specific battery needs, then they may be worth considering.
