The best Home Depot tool deals of the year just went live, featuring 15 free cordless power tool promos across 5 top brands.
You probably know the drill by now – you buy something, such as a power tool battery starter kit or combo kit, and choose a FREE tool gift, battery, or accessory.
There are free tool deals from Dewalt 20V Max, Makita 18V LXT, Milwaukee M18, Ridgid 18V, and Ryobi 18V.

The bargains typically work out well for new or existing users of the featured cordless tool systems.

Buy a Ryobi 18V High Performance Starter Kit, Get a FREE Tool – $139
The starter kit comes with 4Ah and 6Ah HP batteries and a compact charger.
From what I’m seeing, the free tool and accessory selection is the same for each of the different promos.
Milwaukee Free Tool Deals for Holiday 2025
Buy a Milwaukee M18 Starter Kit, Get a FREE Tool – $199
The starter kit comes with 2x XC 5Ah batteries and a standard charger. From what I’m seeing, the free gift selection features many of the same tools as usual, including many M18 FUEL brushless tools. Some of the options are valued at $229 or more, making this deal an excellent value.
Buy a Milwaukee M18 High Output Starter Kit, Get a FREE Tool – $299
You get 2x High Output M18 XC 6Ah batteries with the starter kit, plus a standard charger.
Buy a Milwaukee M18 FUEL Hammer Drill and Impact Driver Combo Kit, Get a FREE Tool – $399
This is Milwaukee’s flagship 2-tool combo kit, and you choose from the same selection of free tools as with the other promos.
Dewalt Free Tool Deals for Holiday 2025
Buy a Dewalt 20V Max Starter Kit, Get a FREE Tool – $199
The starter kit gives you a 5Ah battery, 2Ah battery, and a small charger.
Buy a Dewalt ATOMIC 20V Cordless 2-Tool Combo Kit, Get a FREE Tool – $299
You get an Atomic series brushless hammer drill, premium Atomic series multi-speed impact driver (DCF850), 5Ah and 2Ah batteries, standard charger, and tool bag.
The free gift options for the Dewalt promos range from $139 to $249 in value, with a wide range of mostly brushless cordless power tools to choose from.
Buy a Dewalt 20V XR 3-Tool Combo Kit, Get a FREE Tool – $399
This one’s a bit strange. You get Dewalt’s newest XR series compact brushless hammer drill, newest premium XR series brushless impact driver (DCF860), XR series 3-speed oscillating multi-tool, 2x 6Ah FlexVolt batteries (that’s the strange part), a charger, and a tool bag.
The batteries aren’t a perfect fit for these cordless power tools, with respect to size and weight, but definitely dial up the value you get with the kit.
Buy a Dewalt 20V XR 4-Tool Combo Kit, Get a FREE Tool – $499
For $100 more than the Dewalt 3-tool combo kit deal, you get a sidegrade or slight downgrade to the DCF845 XR impact driver, compact 4Ah batteries (but not PowerPack), and the inclusion of a compact reciprocating saw. The free tool selection looks to be the same.
Home Depot also has an online-only deal where you get TWO free tools – read more: Home Depot 2 Free Dewalt Cordless Tools Deal.
Ridgid Free Tool Deals for Holiday 2025
Buy a Ridgid 18V Cordless Power Tool Starter Kit, Get a FREE Tool – $149
There are just 4 free tools to choose from – an angle grinder, 6-port charger, oscillating multi-tool, and compact blower. The starter kit gives you 2x 4Ah batteries and a charger.
Buy a Ridgid 18V Cordless 2-Tool Combo Kit, Get a FREE Tool – $249
The free Ridgid tool selection is the same here.
Makita Free Tool Deals for Holiday 2025
Buy a Makita 18V Starter Kit, Get a FREE Tool – $199
The starter kit comes with 2x 4Ah Li-ion batteries and Makita’s rapid charger. The free tool selection is limited, but includes some premium brushless tools, making this a good value for new or existing Makita 18V tool users.
Buy a Makita 18V LXT Brushless Hammer Drill and Impact Driver Combo Kit, Get a FREE Tool – $399
It looks like the combo kit, Makita XT297T, includes with a high power hammer drill, impact driver – both tools with brushless motors – 2x 5Ah batteries, tool bag, and rapid charger.
There are many more tool deals at Home Depot than these!
Are These Good Deals?
In my opinion, yes. Not only are “free tool” promos good values when you break things down, they give you some freedom to choose what you get a discount on.
These deals are good through the end of the year (at least), but supplies could (and usually do) sell out sooner.

The Milwaukee link doesn’t say free tool. You have to go to check out and then it offers it.
Stuart
They all show free gift with purchase for me. I checked on another device and cellular network just now, and still see it. As long as the deal works…
Rodney
You have to click on view full product details then click on free.
Stuart
I’m not seeing that. From this and other conversations, it seems Home Depot sometimes shows different views of a page for different people, or maybe it depends on whether you’re signed in or something else.
Big Richard
DeWalt has another new unadvertised bogo deal as well, buy a FlexVolt 3Ah/9Ah starter kit for $329, get select “free” tool. Interestingly, one of the options is the new DCD803 multi-head Atomic driver.

Note: The main picture is the 2Ah/6Ah DCB606 battery and 6A DCB1106 charger, but the actual kit is the 3A/9Ah DCB609 battery and 8A fan-cooled DCB108 charger.
Stuart
Thanks, will take a look!
Derek
I missed the Dewalt 20v multi-head driver release. Looking at the date I guess I was on vacation. Shocked to see it included in this deal.
Stuart
Wait, what?!
Big Richard
Not sure what you are questioning, but if you are referring to their comment about the multi head, I mentioned that in my first comment. That was sort of the reason I made the comment and linked the deal in the first place. I thought it was note worthy.
Stuart
@Big Richard, I saw what you said, and saw the deal, but it didn’t register until Derek said he was shocked. Sorry, I was out, checked things quickly on my phone, and couldn’t help express my surprise as well. Definitely noteworthy, much appreciated! I plan to update the post before lunch and start work on a separate one.

Thank you for this! I’ve been hoping for a ryobi leaf blower deal after missing out on the last one. Now I need to decide if it’s worth it to get the free tool (which I don’t need but would see occasional use) or return the highest value one for the savings…
George
Which one Milwaukee M18 FUEL Hammer Drill and Impact Driver Combo Kit or Makita 18V LXT Brushless Hammer Drill and Impact Driver Combo Kit?
Stuart
It really depends on your needs and wants. I’d buy the Milwaukee, but that’s because I find the M18 system and M18 Fuel product family more appealing. I am not at all familiar with this particular Makita combo kit or the tools it comes with, but it should at least be on-part with the Milwaukee.
If you don’t care about buying into a system, at least consider which free tool you’re choosing.
With respect to value, I think the Makita deal saves you more money, or rather gives you more value for the same money.
Todd
Ryobi High Performance kit is (1) 4Ah and (1) 6Ah not (2) 6Ah
Stuart
Thank you! Fixed it. Sorry, maybe that was just wishful thinking.
Sean h
Ryobi deals don’t seem to offer a single brushless tool. Only real value I can see is if you real want some speakers or a fan. Or of course you can return the tool and then the batteries are essentially $75 which is a steal.
