Makita Tool Deals of the Day at Home Depot 12-3-25

Home Depot has new tools deals of the day for 12/3/25, featuring 28 Makita cordless power tool deals, AC corded tool deals, and some accessory sets.

The Makita deals are hidden, or rather buried, on Home Depot’s deals page, at the very below underneath a bunch of discounts on kitchen appliances, washers, and dryers.

I bought the $49 angle grinder earlier today. Interesting to see how it turns out.

Some good deals on simple, corded angle grinders this year, with this one and the ones from Bosch and Metabo HPT.

It’s dang tempting, though I hate the idea of proprietary consumables.

I bought a Makita LXT angle grinder, and at the time of purchase, I went back and forth over X-Lock vs. regular. I bought the X-Lock, and I am an evangelist. I’ve bought disc and blades from Makita, Bosch, and Diablo. DeWalt makes them, too. It’s a great system that has saved me a lot of time. The price of the discs doesn’t seem out of line with “regular” discs, and places like Home Depot often have quantity packs that price out comparably.

I can’t possibly start another tool brand! I’ve got duplicates in two different brands now! I must not look at these offers!

So only take a closer look at the AC-powered ones. 😉

But the colors might clash! Yellow and red aren’t so bad, but turquoise doesn’t go with either!

(Only partially joking, different color tools makes it easy to describe to helpers)

Turquoise and dark red are complementary colors. So ditch Dewalt and stick with Milwaukee and Makita if you’re after color harmony.

Or go with Dewalt and… (looking it up) Bosch, as those two colors complement each other.

In fact, not long ago Makita themselves used dark red as one of their secondary colors and still use it for some of their dust bags. The original Systainer that came with their first corded tracksaw (SPJ6000K I think?) featured red latches instead of the boring black of their current MacPacs.

I also miss their beige colored tools. The silver they use now just reminds me of when all the car manufacturers started putting silver plastic in their interiors (which eventually led to the gloss black craze).

Not that any of this is news to you, Stuart, but I feel like Makita’s color evolution doesn’t get talked about much.

Oh man, that maroon color Makita has paired with their teal is UGLY. What a terrible color combo

I have that sub compact Multitool and it is SO good. The anti vibration makes a big difference. One problem is that Starlock blades are almost impossible to find (especially in person) and more expensive.

Really? I’ve seen those at Home Depot and Lowe’s on a regular basis. They’re expensive, though. Much better to source them from Ebay and Amazon (assuming you don’t need them RIGHT NOW)

I second the comment, I own one and it’s the best multitool I’ve used.

In our local Home Depot stores (plural) – Starlock blades from Bosch, Diablo, Fein and even Makita (once?). In the Lowe’s store – Bosch and Flex blades. We had a TrueValue store nearby, opened in September last year and closed last month, and even there there was a wide selection of Bosch Starlock blades. But in the latter prices were astronomical, until the close-out sale in the end.

Wish I lived in your cities! HD nearest me has never carried starlock and Lowe’s nearest me has a very expensive variety set but not all the time. I usually order online but for me Multitool blades are the kind of items I seem to need RIGHT NOW haha.

I agree, the multitool is great. I don’t even mind the locking pin some people complain about. It’s at least as easy to change blades as the other brand’s tools.

The local hardware store, here in the middle of nowhere, carries Starlock Trade-A-Blade brand at all times. A lot of the universal ones also work fine.

That being said, the Fein blades are expensive but seem to outlast the cheap brands many times over.
