Husky Mini Tool Box at Home Depot for Black Friday 2025

Home Depot has finally launched their own Husky-branded mini tool box, featuring two drawers, an upper lid compartment, and carrying handle.

It measures 10.83″ wide, 6.3″ deep, and 6.97″ tall. There’s just one color option – black.

Home Depot says that “it’s easy to carry around within your workspace,” and “it offers an efficient storage solution, perfectly fitting into any space while maximizing storage capacity.”

While I find that mini tool boxes can be convenient, they’re mostly a novelty. Lowe’s kicked off the trend two holiday seasons ago, and it seems that ever major tool retailer now has their own.

I found the new Husky tool boxes at my local Home Depot store, and gave it a quick look.

The pre-cut drawer and compartment liners seemed like a nice touch.

Here’s what the display looks like. If your store has any, they’ll be in the main aisle with the other holiday season tool deals and gifts.

It seemed cheap to me, but not any more so than any of the others I’ve checked out in person.

You don’t get color options, but you do get a carrying handle, which sets it apart from the other mini tool chests around right now.

Price: $15.88

Now for the tough question – is $16 going to be the final price, or is there a chance this will be a Black Friday doorbuster?

It’s good to see more variety in the mini tool box space.

If you don’t need a carrying handle, Lowe’s has mini tool boxes in a wide range of colors.

The handle changes this from a novelty item to an actual real small toolbox.

I could see this one being actually useful, though it would be hard to compete with packout or some similar more durable toolboxes except on price.

I bought one of these up last week. Bringing my mini tool box collection up to nine. I’ve bought everyone I found for sale. I think I have a problem. lol

It does feel very cheap, but has two features that were interesting. The top is latched allowing for the carry handle and the drawers feel like they are being held closed by magnetic latches. Which also helps with carrying.

I haven’t spent a lot of time with it yet, and haven’t been able to remove the drawer yet to confirm the magnets.

I picked up another mini tool box at Sam’s Club this week. It’s pretty good. A little taller allowing for deeper drawers and they are more ascetically pleasing. I got mine in Olive green and it’s fantastic. It also has ball bearing drawer slides and a top cover latch (no handle)

I got one from Lowes and use it for the novelty on my nightstand, the top handle kind of ruins it for me.

I use mine on my workbench and like the clean top in case I need to set something there, so the handle is a deal breaker for me. The drawer liners I do like though.

I think the handle makes this broadly more useful, although I couldn’t come up with a personal use case when I saw this in-store.

The build felt very cheap to me (not a surprise, given the price). But I would have been more interested with a slightly higher price and a nicer build.

I like the latch. My only issue with the Lowe’s mini tool box is no latch on the top.

Let’s remember the Harbor Freight minis from US General that have ball bearing drawer slides and at least six colors.

As a weird regional quirk, here in Canada we get an unbranded version of the Kobalt mini top chest in Rona stores (a hardware store previously owned by Lowes):

I’m not sure how I managed this. Can you delete the duplicate Stuart?
