Kizer UTI Bear Folding Utility Knife Halloween Edition Closeup

I came across this limited edition Kizer utility knife, and it actually has a pretty cool Halloween-style decoration.

But you have to really be into Halloween, as it has a price tag of around $46.

I’m familiar with Kizer folding knives, and know them to make decent quality, but this is the first I’m seeing of their Uti Bear folding utility knife.

Kizer UTI Bear Folding Utility Knife Halloween Colors

Kizer has other color options available, this one has an “evil spiders” motif with acrylic handle.

It works with standard utility knife blades.

Kizer throws in a small pumpkin bead.

Kizer UTI Bear Folding Utility Knife Halloween Edition Blade Holder

I’m not a fan of utility knives that have a large exposed cutting edge like this, but it seems to be the popular trend for EDC-style utility knives.

So… trick or treat?

Buy it at Amazon

People spend a lot of money on seasonal decorations, jewelry, accessories, and pumpkin spice lattes. There’s nothing wrong with adding limited editions of functional tools to the list, although this one is priced for enthusiasts.

Alternatively, you can grab a Milwaukee FastBack for $10 from Home Depot, and decorate it with a Sharpie permanent marker or some stickers. Or maybe add a lanyard made from some USA-made paracord in seasonal colors.

I like that last idea better – changing up the lanyard for different seasons. Maybe orange and black would be fitting for Halloween, and you can attach it to any pocket tool that has a lanyard hole.

Civivi Elementum Utility Knife Folded Half Open

When it comes to EDC-style utility knives, the Civivi Elementum (see Civivi Launched an EDC Folding Utility Knife) is one of the better models I’ve seen. It doesn’t have spiders, but it does have an anodized aluminum handle in multiple color options.

I’m pretty much wedded to my Milwaukee Fastback 6n1. It’s even become my weekend carry.

I like that it doesn’t need a torx bit to swap blades. At least, from the photos I assume it’s tool-free and you just push the button. The crossbar lock and deep-carry clip are nice too.

I don’t really get “holiday” edc personally, but to each his own.

It looks like there’s a finger choil too, so I presume that curvy spine is for your thumb. It’s not a bad design (but I would just carry a knife).

I use my Fastbacks a lot, but if I need to carry a super-slim utility knife, I like the Workpro. Tool-less blade change and less than $5 each. One handed opening and closing is possible but it’s a little stiff.

They have a version with G10 scales if you want a thicker knife.

    That’s not a Halloween 🎃 knife – it’s a Spider 🕷️!

    Spyderco best watch out.

Looks scary! Not the spider stuff, but the fully exposed blade.

It looks like a misslip when slicing or pushing a bit hard might cause the blade to snap out
