Price-Drop: Knipex Cobra & Diagonal Cutter Pliers Set

Knipex Pliers Gift Set 2020

This Knipex 2pc pliers and zippered pouch tool set dropped in price overnight, from $69.68 to $58.05.

The set comes with 10″ Cobra adjustable pliers, and 8″ diagonal cutters. At the time of this posting, you save ~$5 compared to buying the two pliers separately, if you consider the zippered pouch a freebie.

The savings are higher (~$15-17) if you look at retailers, as Amazon has the diagonal cutter by itself for $10 less than other sellers.

This is a good “try me” style Knipex tool set, or a gift set, or a good option if you have other Knipex tools and want these too.

If you can’t use both styles of pliers, skip it – this set isn’t discounted enough and is only a good buy if you can definitely use everything you get. Except for the pouch, I’d consider that a bonus or an added value.

Price: ~$58

8″ Diagonal Cutter at Amazon

If you miss this deal or on the fence, keep in mind that Amazon bounces the price between high $50s and high $60s fairly regularly. The lowest I recall it selling for was ~$56 for Black Friday week 2020.

I bought the knipex diagonal cutter around five years ago for a several month job as an electrician’s helper. With tax, around $50. Almost never have the need to use it. It rests in my tool bag and when I do have a reason to use it, it brings such pleasure that it must be a sin. When you have work to do, having a tool that makes you happy, turns work into play.

Thanks for posting this. I’ve been sitting on the cobra pliers in my wish list for a while, and this deal tipped the scales to purchase.

If you’ve never tried a Cobra, this might be the time to dive in. I’ve got lots of Channellock-style pliers (and like them just fine), but it’s the Cobras that are really amazing.

Looks like a nice deal if you were looking for these two tools.
While I love Knipex and I have an awful lot of them in my toolbox I feel like something else would be a better introduction to the brand than the diagonal cutters. Don’t get me wrong, they are top tier, but plenty of companies make good diagonal cutters so Knipex doesn’t stand out from the crowd as much with this tool as they do with some others. The Cobras are always fantastic.

In my opinion the best combo for someone looking to try out Knipex tools would be a Pliers Wrench, Cobras, and the CoBolt cutters. Maybe throw the new TwinGrips in there too? Knipex pliers are universally great but those are the ones that really stand out from the competition in my experience.

I agree about the Twin Grip. Never would’ve thought I’d look forward to getting some slip-joint pliers, but they sure redefine what that means.

I just started buying Knipex a few years ago.

Everyone should just buy knipex immediately. Their quality is amazing, and they are a pleasure to use.

IMHO, Knipex is one of the better companies out there. They hold the line on prices and have great sales. They’re not into the new gouge fiesta that’s plaguing the world right now. I don’t like buying on Amazon. KCToolCo is the place.

Ah but the 12″ model is over $20 more than the 10″. I mean, TWENTY DOLLARS more for just 2″ longer handle. Crazy…
