Decided to purchase one. Thanks for the information. I really like your site and I like the increase in sales info, but my pocket book is taking a hit. I have purchased many tools after reading about them from you. Keep up the good work.

      You’re very welcome. =)

Last year I received emails on a daily basis about the Double Drive bonus set with free pouch that everyone kept hearing about, so I figured I’d preempt the questions.

Glad you’re enjoying the content, and sorry about the hit to your wallet.

Any input on this regarding the change to some plastic parts that were previously metal?

In my opinion the move was made to lower costs. I haven’t seen any durability issues with the housing or forward/reverse switch.

On the positive side, the balance of the driver has been improved somewhat. The switch to plastic from metal lightened the front end of the tool, pushing the center of mass closer to the handle.

Overall, I’m still on the fence about the driver’s performance. It’s a neat gimmick, but it’s still not a must-have.

For me it helped out immensely with some spanner security screws that threaded into nutserts. In this application, using a drill would break off the prongs of the bit, so doing it quickly by hand was a must, and the double drive kept it from being the same repetitive motion and wearing out my arm.
