I’ve been told that I should post more to social media. Okay, I’ll give it a try. So, last week I decided to post a little more steadily.

Oh… too many places to go! I wish I didn’t miss out on these other posts, but I’m just not a Twitter/Facebook/Instagram follower.

This is in no offense specifically to Toolguyd, as I am seeing this elsewhere, but are creators really expecting everyone to follow them in 3 or 4 places? The number of times I see mention of “you may have seen on our post over on…” is really increasing.

Where is the meta site that says: you want to follow ToolGuyd? Here is a stream from everything they have from all the major social media sites….

I’m done venting! Thank you for posting back to here what you shared elsewhere. Its appreciated.

    David

      Here’s my philosophy

Content is created for the website.

If there’s something interesting but I can’t or won’t be interrupted or am not anywhere near a computer, I might post to Instagram.

I won’t post just to Facebook or Twitter anymore. But if I post to Instagram, it’ll be reposted to Facebook or Twitter automatically.

I’ve been posting more lately, and figured I could/should embed those posts here. If you’re not into social media, you still see the posts. If you’re interested in social media but aren’t subscribed to any of our accounts, a post like this will draw attention to it.

Some people have their social media preferences, and resulting from reader requests, we auto-share toolguyd.com headlines to Facebook and Twitter.

We still don’t do a lot on YouTube to draw attention there.

If it’s important for me to share or talk about, it’ll be on ToolGuyd.com. Less formal and quicker topics and images go to Instagram.

It’s like a new blockbuster movie. Watch the movie, and you’ll get the main benefit. But there will also be comics, books, etc, that might give you a little extra if you’re inclined.

Thank God. I hate social media and I thought I was going to lose one of my favorite sites to shit like FB and Twitter. These never appealed to me

Recently I joined Facebook after ages, I will probably join Twitter after ten years and will die before joining Instagram :)))

At your present rate of assimilation/adoption something totally new to the world will be your next “social media” add.

            ;-)~

To me content on social media becomes trash in short order. I hate that so much has gone to instagram which has no good way of searching for legacy content because that doesn’t sell current ads. Websites with stored information (google searchable) provide decades of use and hopefully longer. Posts on social media get lost in the volume, deleted often and users are all sycophants or total trolls, nothing much in the middle.

I stopped looking at Facebook a year ago, never user twitter anymore, and only a few times a week do I look at a few things on instagram to much dislike.

+1 for posting all content to toolguyd.com. I don’t have accounts with any of the “social” media outlets — and I’m in IT!

I’m not on social media either so this is about as good as it gets for me. But Stuart, that Craftsman tape measure is worth every penny! I love mine! Plus I prefer the red color.
