Lowes Black Friday 2014: Dremel 200 Rotary Tool for $25

Lowes has revealed one more of their upcoming Black Friday 2014 deals – a Dremel 200 2-speed rotary tool, for $25. Hopefully it’s the Dremel 200-1/15, which comes with a couple of accessories.

The Vine animation they used is clever, but disturbing at the same time:

I supposed the Dremel 200 is good for more casualĀ users, but I personally prefer to use their fully-featured variable speed models.

I also prefer a full featured model with more speed control. That said, this would be ideal for the “boy scout dad” who’s looking for a Dremel for those few Pinewood Derby years. Even if you’re not a “crafty” guy who’d normally reach for a Dremel, Pinewood Derby’s alone are enough incentive to grab a lower end model.

If that’s all I intended to do, I’d be good with a model like this. My experience with the more detailed accessories is that they look good in the case. In practical application I seldom reached for them. I ended up knocking the excess wood off with the tool and doing the bulk of finer detailing by hand anyway.

might be nice, a lot of times, l could use me die grinder for something, but I don’t feel like firing up my compressor.
