Lowe’s is Clearing out this Dewalt Cordless Tool Kit – One Day Deal (11/10/25)

Lowes Dewalt Power Detect Cordless Drill and Impact Driver Deal of the Day 11-10-25

Lowe’s has a tool deal of the day for 11/10/25, featuring the Dewalt DCK299D1W1 20V Max cordless hammer drill and impact driver combo kit.

This kit features the Dewalt 20V Max XR Power Detect hammer drill DCD998, XR brushless impact driver DCF887, a 2Ah battery, 8Ah battery, fast charger, and tool bag.

It looks like a great buy at just $249.

Both of the tools are a bit long in the tooth, having been replaced with newer models, and the 8Ah battery is not as good as the newer PowerPack battery with the same charge capacity.

Last year Dewalt announced new XR tools that didn’t involve Power Detect or FlexVolt Advantage, and they also reworked which batteries are given XR branding.

As I see it, this is an older premium Dewalt cordless tool kit with brushless tools and still-decent batteries. Lowe’s seems to be clearing them out with this one-day sale.

If you want the latest and greatest Dewalt 20V Max hammer drill and impact driver kit, Lowe’s has it for $419 right now, discounted from $449. Acme Tools has it for the same price. Home Depot has a different version, with two compact batteries, for $369.

These tools, the DCD998 and DCF887, were the best Dewalt had to offer a few years ago. So while today’s Lowe’s deal features older tools, I think you get good value for the money.

Deal Price: $249

Buy it at Lowe’s

Deal ends at 3am ET 11/11/25 unless supplies sell out sooner.

Need to be talked way from the deal? There are reasons to look towards the newer models, such as the DCD1007’s anti-kickback protection. While still a higher output battery pack, the 8Ah features older non-tabless Li-ion battery cell tech. For just $170 more, the latest Dewalt combo kit (via Lowe’s) has a newer and more featured-hammer drill, newer impact driver, and newer and more powerful 8Ah and 4Ah batteries.

Need to be talked into it? The biggest reason to consider this deal is because the same money won’t buy you similar capabilities within the Dewalt 20V Max cordless power tool system. The closest Dewalt 20V Max combo kit, with the latest 3-speed hammer drill, XR brushless impact driver, 8Ah and 4Ah PowerPack batteries, is $170 more.

As a reminder, retailers’ Black Friday tool deals are now live. There will likely be some surprises and doorbuster deals, but the bulk of their promos are already available.

These ARE very nice, premium tools (and you rarely see the fast charger in combos at this price, usually more in the 300 range), and will do 90% of what needs to be done. But being premium tools also implies you are going to keep them for the long haul, and anti-kick back is really a vital feature for your hand’s health for the long haul. Hard decision.

Agreed. Yeah, the tools aren’t the most recent, but they are not slouches by any means. I think the value is very good.

That said, I also think that kickback protection is a very valuable feature. That is why I bought the DCD1007. My old DCD990 was–and still is–working great and I don’t find it lacking in power either. It’s many years old but still plenty powerful enough for most tasks. But, it managed to smack me good a couple times and I decided to retire it. I think that some electronic features we see on power tools aren’t all that useful, but bind-up and kickback protection is fantastic.

Great deal if you’re starting out in the trades, probably overkill for most diy stuff. I think it’s worth paying the extra for the anti kickback for a drill to help prevent wrist and arm injuries, also if you do a lot of overhead work or are on ladders this would help prevent the drill from twisting and throwing you off the ladder, this would be rare but could happen and more safety is always better.

The anti kickback can also protect the tool. I broke the handle on my old trusty Makita while drilling overhead on a ladder, because I dropped it onto concrete instead of holding on and having it drop me.

It’s a tough call. The DCD1007 is the best 3-speed cordless drill that Dewalt has ever made, but it’s rarely discounted, with the 1-battery kit typically priced at $330 to $349 https://www.amazon.com/DEWALT-Cordless-Battery-Charger-DCD1007WW1/dp/B0D8TM7XK8/?tag=toolguyd-20 .

Dewalt’s best impact driver kit, even discounted for the holidays ( https://www.amazon.com/DEWALT-Cordless-Battery-Charger-DCF860WW1/dp/B0DR9PYB9X/?tag=toolguyd-20 ) is also priced higher than Lowe’s is charging for the 2-tool kit.

“Lower price” drives many purchasing decisions.

DIYer? I’d point to Lowe’s $249 Kobalt free bonus tool deals https://toolguyd.com/kobalt-free-cordless-power-tool-deals-lowes-holiday-2025/ . But for pros? Can you get similar features and capabilities from pro brands for the same money? No.

Would I buy this combo kit at a discount? No. If I had a max budget of $250? Maybe.

Even if one looks beyond Dewalt, competitive options sit at the $400 price point.
