The newish Klein Tools limited edition Blackout tools at Lowe’s have started to sell out, at least at the stores in my area.
I still have yet to be able to find these at any Lowe’s stores, but luckily they’ve been available online.
This year’s collection of all-black tools features a Klein multi-bit screwdriver (32500BLK), wire stripper (K11095BLK), folding utility knife (44303BLK), and 2pc Phillips and slotted screwdriver set (85442BLK).

Lowe’s priced all of the tools inline with the regular non-limited edition tools, and in some cases you save a little money by going with the special dark colorway.
My stores didn’t have any in the tool deals and gifts sections, the electrical hand tool aisle, the pro specials section, or anywhere in between. I ordered the utility knife online, and Lowe’s delivered it quickly.
I noticed that online inventory is starting to dwindle. If you were meaning to get your hands on one or more of these Klein tools, hurry up.
Maybe next year they’ll have blacked-out versions of ModBox tool boxes.

Why would I buy tools that will be even harder to find when I set them down somewhere?
Nathan
Exactly
Explains a lot doesn’t it. But you know if it keeps them in business I guess it’s ok.
Question are any of the blackout items made in USA?
LE
Yea I’ve said it before on posts about these and I’ll say it again. I don’t get the obsession with all blacked out tools. I get tool storage if you are trying to keep wandering eyes at bay a bit, but the actual tools themselves? I need to see those when I set them down or drop them!

I’ve decided not to buy any of these ’cause I’ll find plenty lost on jobsites over the next few months.

I don’t know if the wire strippers are made in the U.S.A., but there is a flag etched on it. It’s subtle and looks good. Actually, the tools all look good, but I don’t think I’d buy any tool in solid black.
MattW.
I hear this argument as much as your tools are too clean. The black tools look cool yes I have them all as well. The wire strippers and dedicated screwdrivers are made in usa. If you want tools you dont loose get some high vis tools no ones making you buy black tools. Klein collectors like different color ways like wera does handle colors. Can’t useful tools look cool or do they need to be crazy bright? Most service techs i work around and with have blackout veto bags maybe spec ops/infared. They like the blackout look even though its not eyeshockingly bright. I also like black knipex handles and haven’t list any of my black tools yet. The correct mindset making sure you have your tools and proper pouches/muscle memory not a problem. I ask that you think of the other side before saying tools are too clean or om gonna loose that tool. What if you were working in a stark white room black would stand out!
Nathan
Fair but I don’t see many stark white rooms and playing on planes you can be in an all light grey area. Green red yellow etc tend to stand out too. One benefit of blackout I can see is for criminals working at night and wearing black. I could see that
Or the CIA. Either way. (Needs a smiley of some form). 😎

I’ve decided to hold off buying any of these ’cause I’ll find plenty lost on jobsites over the next few months.
