Lowe’s has Secret Dewalt Cordless Deals that Beats Home Depot’s

Dewalt raised the prices of all of their 20V Max cordless drill and impact driver kits for Black Friday this year, or at least from what I’ve seen so far.

In recent years, Dewalt had 4 different cordless drill kit promos and 2 or 3 impact driver kit promos, each at the $99 price point.

This year, they raised the price to $119. I’ve noticed price increases on a lot of other Dewalt cordless power tool deals this year, but they were not selling any 20V Max drill or impact driver kits for $99 was a big shock.

A reader pointed out something that I had missed. As shown above, Lowe’s is advertising their exclusive Dewalt brushless drill and impact driver kits at $119, but there’s also a “members deal” that can be unlocked.

On the product page for both tools, Lowe’s say that an extra members-only discount of $20 is applied after adding either the drill or impact to your shopping cart.

I signed up for their member program at some point, and sure enough I saw the price on the Dewalt cordless drill kit drop to $99 in my Lowe’s shopping cart.

The same happened when I added the impact driver to my cart.

All season now, Home Depot has had the Dewalt Atomic brushless drill and impact driver kits for $119 each.

Stanley Black & Decker – Dewalt’s parent company – seems to treat their retail partners evenly, with no obvious favorites most of the time.

If Home Depot gets a brushless drill to sell for $99, Lowe’s gets a brushless drill to sell for $99. Prices for Dewalt promos, such as their miter saws and table saws, always seem to be consistent across the two retailers.

So what’s going on here, where Lowe’s is able to sell Dewalt 20V Max brushless drill and impact driver kits at $99 each, but Home Depot is selling their exclusives at $119 each?

Home Depot’s deals are okay, but in my opinion Lowe’s 3 free tool offer is so much better, and Home Depot doesn’t have anything close to that.

Home Depot doesn’t seem to have any Dewalt PowerPack deals, although they do have a kit where you can buy 3 compact tools with larger and heavier FlexVolt batteries and choose 1 free tool.

Are Lowe’s deals better than Home Depot’s this year? That’s a matter of opinion.

But Lowe’s being able to sell Dewalt cordless drill kits and impact driver kits at $99 for Black Friday while Home Depot’s best price is $119 – that’s definitely new and a break from what I’ve seen.

Home Depot has a Dewalt tape measure deal right now.

Where’d the Atomic branding go? When I asked about this, Dewalt said they “don’t have any updates to share.”

I’m not sure what to make of all this, or whether it’s all smaller parts of a bigger picture.

Home Depot is still beating Lowe’s when it comes to the number and breadth of Dewalt tool deals for Black Friday, which make all of this even more curious.
