Makita USA announced on social media that they are expanding the MakTrak modular tool box system with new accessories.
Here’s the full announcement:
Makita is expanding the MAKTRAK system by releasing more accessories to help pros get their work done.

The provided image shows Makita MakTrak accessories like the MOLLE panel that can be used within the larger tool boxes as a divider, or mounted to the lids.
The MOLLE panels shown in the provided image seem like a good “grab and go” hand tool organizer, and the open grid allows for some level of customization such as with Velcro straps or bungee cords.
It’s not clear what is part of this expansion, but it’s good to see new availability for the add-ons and accessories that were shown off when the tool box system launched last year.
As a reminder, MakTrak tool boxes and organizers are slightly discounted for the holiday season.
Some folks have been stomping their feet as they wait for news of more Makita MakTrak products.
Yes, it’s been a year since MakTrak launched. But don’t forget this is a new venture for the company, and it’s going to take time for it to grow.

Keep in mind that Milwaukee took a full year to expand their Packout tool box system. When is the last time Dewalt expanded their ToughSystem 2.0 tool box system? Craftsman VersaStack? Flex StackPack?
Makita’s pace might seem slow, but it’s on-par with the industry. Would you rather they over-promised and under-delivered?

I don’t recall when I saw Makita advertise on TV or heard them in the past on radio. But recently they seem to have launched an ad campaign with Home Depot – being aired regularly on a News-Radio station in my area. The thesis put forwards is that Pro’s need and demand the best, most reliable and strongest tools and Makita are the ones to choose – and you can get them at HD,

When is the last time Dewalt expanded their ToughSystem 2.0 tool box system? Was that a trick question 😂

That’s not really a Dewalt ToughSystem storage product.

Remember thoughbuilts super rad molle system? Me neither🤣, meanwhile thoughbuilt Australia gets all the new rolling draw boxes and cool gadgets. Seriously Stuart what gives with that? I’m over the stack tech, tool box marketing hype for many reasons. First tough built failed to deliver, then overpriced and when we think they’re disappearing they release all new very useful boxes in Australia only? My Lowe’s opened up additional shelf space and barcodes months ago for new stack tech stuff and in similar fashion those spots remain empty. Starting to feel like a middle finger from the company to the US market.
