Makita 10% Flash Sale 10-21-2020

Today only, save 10% off Makita tool orders at Acme Tools!

When I received notice of today’s Makita Fall 2020 Flash Sale, I was worried for a brief moment. Save 10% off select Makita tool orders. Do you see what gave me pause? That one word – “select,” could make or break a promo.

BUT, I quickly looked at the list of exclusions, to see just how limited this promo would be.

And, here it is:

5007FM, 5477NB, AT1150A, BO5030K, JR3051T, MAC5501G, XMT03Z, XRJ01Z, XSL06PT, XSL06Z, XT281S, XTP02Z, BL1840B, BL1840B-2, BL1850B-2, BL1860B, BL1860B-2

That’s it?

It looks like nearly all Makita tools are included in this promo, except for some Makita 18V Li-ion battery SKUs, corded power tools, an air compressor, and very specific nailers.

Max discount is $100, which means you get max savings on orders up to $1000.

Note: Acme Tools and Makita USA just kicked off a new promo for ToolGuyd readers, where you can save 10% on cordless outdoor power tools as part of a RULE THE OUTDOORS promo. So if you’re planning a big purchase on OPE gear, you can use code TOOLGUYD for 10% off thru the end of the year. I mention this in case you’re planning a big purchase – you can use TOOLGUYD on your OPE order, and then more limited FALL10 promo for non-OPE tools.

The flash sale is only valid on 10/21/2020.

Should you wait for a better deal? Frankly, we don’t know if there will be better-than-10% promos in the near future, or whether any future promos will have a much longer list of excluded SKUs. Personally, I think this 10% coupon is a good deal. There might be a $25 off $100+ holiday deal as in previous years, but that promo typically excludes many cordless power tools.

Got their email at 7:34 this morning – and tried shopping . I didn’t have your summary of exclusions so tried to order batteries (the only thing I was interested in was an 1860B-2). But – as you note – it is on Acme’s exclusion list

    Oh well

Was pricing Makita XAG16Z at ACME is $169.99 minus 10% would be $153. On Amazon the price is $157.85. Savings are not very compelling 😢
