Milwaukee Tool has launched a new 8-in-1 multi-bit screwdriver with Shockwave impact-rated bits and nut drivers, model 48-22-2922.
I put together a single image (shown above) that breaks down exactly what you get.
There’s a screwdriver handle, and a double-ended shaft with inserts, similar to other multi-bit screwdrivers.

What’s different here is that the 5/16″ and 3/8″ sockets are actually removable nut drivers.
Here are all the screwdriver bit and nut driver sizes: Phillips #2, slotted 1/4″, Square #1, #2, and nut drivers in 1/4″, 5/16″, 3/8″, and 9/16″.

Milwaukee says that all 4 of the screwdriver bits and 4 nut driver sizes are impact-rated for use with impact tools.
The screwdriver bits look to be standard 1/4″ hex insert bits, but the nut drivers look proprietary so as to fit the double-ended bit holders.
Impact-resistant features include “Wear Guard” tips that holds up to wear and maintains bit fit over time, and a ShockZone for absorbing peak torque to help prevent breakage during high impact use.
The handle has an anti-peel cushion grip for lasting comfort and control.

This looks like a convenient multi-bit screwdriver with enhanced versatility.
Price: $21
ETA: December 2025
If you don’t need the removable nut drivers, Milwaukee has a bunch of other multi-bit screwdrivers, see Milwaukee is Launching 8 New Multi-Bit Screwdrivers.

I have to admit I don’t like double ended bits at all, and avoid tools that use them.
Stuart
I believe those are standard 1/4″ hex insert bits in double-ended holders, and that this is where the 1/4″ nut driver size comes from. If so, the double-ended design allows for quick bit changes and the 1/4″ hex sockets could be loaded with any other insert bits.
Chachi_js
Will it work in the m12 ratchet? Kinda looks like the hex for that.
Stuart
I have not seen any indication it could be used with the ratchet.
Saulac
Ratchet with a hex drive? Not sure if I have seen that. I have the M12 (angle) nut runner with 1/4 hex. Other than that all other wrenches have square and drivers have hex.
Jared
Milwaukee 3050-20 Insider ratchet.
It is pretty cool if you have to deal with all-thread or situations where a deepwell socket isn’t deep enough.
John
Are Square drive screws really more common these days than Torx? I’ll probably pick this up anyway, and then swap in Torx bits.
NoahG
In electrical, yeah.
John
Thanks. I figured it must be something like that.
Rob
Up here in Canada Robertson (square) is our preferred head for all our screws

I’m definitely going to keep an eye out for these at the Ace hardware store in town. I would order it online, but I know I’ll be able to save a few bucks when they have a few dollars off of it at some point for rewards members. I don’t mind paying full price by any means if they don’t have rewards offer pricing on it in within a month or two, but saving a few bucks on tools here and there adds up as well.

Agreed Scott,
Ace Hardware fan here. You may pay a little more there but the service, selection, quality and knowledge are always greatly superior to the local big box stores. Plus our Ace locations are locally owned.
Scott
Our Ace location is locally owned by an ol boy that owns three or four other locations that are closer to the city. I definitely agree about the customer service, I’ve never had a reason at all to complain about an employee at the one in town.
Paying a little more evens out in the end for me when I would have to drive 20 minutes in either direction to a Lowe’s store location, or 20 minutes to the closest Menards. The difference in fuel there and back easily offsets paying a little more.

When are we going to stop this malarkey and just move to metric?
p.s. I’ve head the Klein set for 2 years. No need to change it.
Adam
The Kline set of this is my favorite multi bit driver to date. I do like that this, hopefully, uses all standard 1/4” bits.
S
Probably around the same time that DST is abolished…
TonyT
Like 6.35 mm bits?
Mickey Finn
Klein makes almost the same one. I’m a huge fan of Milwaukee and Klein. I just wish this screwdriver was magnetic. The Klein is not magnetic either. It’s the only flaw with both, which in my opinion as a 30 yr union electrician is a big flaw!
Jeremiah
Is it a hard tool or a ratcheting in/out handle?
Stuart
Non-ratcheting.
CW
It looks to be literally a red klein 8 in 1 lol. You see that more and more now. Biggest flaw in this and most other 8in1s is none of it is magnetic. Who wants to balance a screw on the removable ends? Why make these impact rated if its more of a pain to use these in an impact than impact dedicated magnetic bits that don’t drop screws into oblivion when in tight spaces? The gimmick is just not worth it to buy another tool that has a slightly worse version of what most tradesman have already mashed into one tool lol. These things are like the jack of all trades types. Average at all great at none
Alex
Those double ended bits quite clearly are *not* standard 1/4
