This Milwaukee multi-bit screwdriver 2-pack is on sale for just $15, made possible by the Home Depot Black Friday and Holiday 2016 shopping season.

I also mentioned a very similar deal in my Home Depot Black Friday & Holiday Hand Tools Deal post. That deal is a little different, and the distinction is important.

With this deal, you get 2 individual screwdrivers, or at least that’s what Home Depot’s imagery suggests. With that other deal, you get a double pack of screwdrivers.

If you’re buying for yourself, it doesn’t matter which you buy. If you’re buying the drivers as a gift, or gifts, this 2-pack might be the better way to go.

I’ve purchased a number of these Milwaukee multi-bit screwdrivers over the years, usually during the holiday season as part of a special screwdriver plus knife bundle.

And… they’re kind of forgettable, but that’s a good thing. It gets the job done, with no complaints, no frustrations, and no gimmicks. There are some special features, but none that I’ve used. I’m just not the “strip a wire with my screwdriver” type.

That said, I of course bought a double pack for myself. I’ll probably give one to my father, who won’t care if it comes in retail packaging or not. But I’ll probably lie to him, and tell him that I didn’t spend money on it out of pocket. He doesn’t use tools very often these days, but I like to make sure he’s got good stuff when the need for some around-the-house repair or assembly work comes up.

Price: $15

Looked at those last week, without a selection of Torx bits it is a no-go for me. I prefer the Klein 11-1

Klein rocks, but all ya gotta do is add the Torx bits to this tools storage and then you have a way better than Klein tool. I think. If you have the storage capacity. Anyway, the Milwaukee is handier and looks nicer. I want it. Craftsman has a nice one with rubber grip at $12, so this deal is my best option in price and features. And by the way, the singles are priced at only $8 vs $13 for the Klein.

I can say from copious testing that the Klein and Milwaukee bits are interchangeable. The the only real difference between the 11-N-1 from both companies is the handle.

No complaints? One from me. A good fitting slotted screw will pull the whole bit right out of the handle. This happened above an expensive special order porcelain sink for me on the last day of a job and it fell and made a small chip, costing me $1100.

It’s hard to get excited about these after using offerings from Wiha, and Wera. Cheap and good gift ideas? Sure. But for my personal use I’ll stick with the aforementioned.
