The way the pricing works out, you can put together a 3-piece rolling tool box setup for $197. You can also put together a different configuration if so desired.

Milwauke Packout Tool Box Stack

There’s also a 3pc combo for $197. It’s the same money, and there shouldn’t be any differences in what you get. I’m mentioning it in case supplies sell out and you cannot buy the components separately.

Thanks to Philip for the tip!

P.S…

Milwaukee Packout Foam Insert Tool Box

Acme Tools has also started carrying the Milwaukee Packout tool case with foam insert.

Dangitall. I’ve got a bunch of Black Ridgid cases and just the other day you posted (finally!) about a compartmented version to be available “soon”.
    Hmmmm.

I might still head over but now I don’t need to go early!
I am seriously considering purchasing the foam filled case I am thinking I can store my batteries and maybe even a charger in one…Hmm

I didn’t know this was possible. Just talked to Acme and they were awesome; they will price adjust it for me. I highly recommend them! Thank you for your advice.

You guys are so lucky. At those prices I would definitely be buying into the system.

Milwaukee Australia are thieving us at pretty much 3-4 times that pricing, which in no way can be justified.

Wow. I thought we got it bad in Canada. We usually pay about double . Unless its a house. Then we pay about 5 times as much.

But yours come in black, or at least Europe’s do. And that of course demands a steep premium.

If I ever visit Australia, maybe I’ll pack everything into a stack of Packouts and sell them as needed to pay for vacation extras.

For a laugh, check out the pricing in the link.. No way will ever consider buying any at these prices. Basically an absolute rip off.

eg; Dewalt Tstak sets are only just over a 3rd of the price.

Glenn, that is insane. One thing I learned about international sales in trying to buy some British mens toiletries is that this price tripling is not as uncommon as you would think. While some of it is obviously playing to obscurity and limited availability and gouging, sometimes things are not as simple as we’d like.

Other than obvious ridiculous price gouging there are sometimes weird customs issues involved as well. Milwwukee may have a stand alone company with a similar name but who is the sole importer of their goods to Austrslia. They pay all the customs, licensing, trademark fees, etc and for that they get to set wholesale and recommended pricing. I am not saying it is a fact in this case but a possibility. I cannot in any stead think Milwaukee would believe this is an inducement for Aussies to buy into their product line. I can only imagine what the tools retail for.

Satch, It is Milwaukee themselves that set the pricing. Milwaukee Australia is part of Milwaukee Tools.

The only extras here should be the exchange rate and our sales tax, (known as GST here). Anything above this is is just price gouging.

Milwaukee started jacking their prices up here about 2 years ago. So much so that I decided to change brands earlier this year. Because of the price increases, I manages to break even on the sale of the Majority of my Milwaukee tools.

Since then, one of our electricians also changed brands and sold off his Milwaukee tools. He also discouraged his new apprentice from buying Milwaukee.

Ripping people off does not engender brand loyalty.

If you don’t want the foam all the way to the top on the small Packout toolbox, you can save $5 buy going with Kaizen and using the 2.25″ thick foam, which I prefer anyway. They also make inserts for the other Packout boxes.

So I just realized that the 10 bin organizer I bought last Black Friday for $20 is a “jobsite organizer” and not a “Packout”. It’s model # 48-22-8030. Looks like it’s similar to the 48-22-8430 “Packout” model.

Can anyone speak to if mine will stack and lock together with the new ones?

If you like the cheaper 10 bin organizer and want to buy a bunch of them, you can pick up the Kaizen K’Nex adapter kit for $29, attach it to one of the jobsite organizers and use it as an adapter between them and the Packout.

      https://kaizeninserts.com/products/kaizen-knex

At $45 for the clear Packout organizer, you can buy two of the jobsite organizers for every one Packout.

The other thing is that red bins are the same between the jobsite organizers and the Packout organizers. So you could have a bunch of jobsite organizers at home to organize all your parts, then only pull the bins you need when you travel with your Packout organizer.

Ben, I saw this back when it was PackAid. I like the idea but the price is a non-starter for me. 30 dollars for a few pieces of plastic is not a good cost to effect ratio. If you bought the job site organiser on sale for the price of 20 dollars(currently at my local store) and add the 30 dollar Pack Aid then you are already at 50 dollars. Currently the regular sized Pack Out organiser is on sale for $49 which is not a good comparison economically speaking. At the regular price of $25 plus adapter kit we are within 5 dollars of every day PackOut pricing. Just seems weird. Am I missing something in the adapter kit that makes it more worthwhile? Again, big fan of the idea, just not the price.

I need HD to carry and sell these at this kind of a discount. It’s much easier to sneak new tools into the house that I buy locally at my HD than it is for me to Order from Acme. Can’t hide the UPS truck!!

Good luck. They had the Packout 3pc combo last year, and it sold out very rapidly at all the local stores here. I only spotted them at the largest store in the area, and when I went back the next day, they were gone too.

One of the nearby Home Depots has Packout boxes in the store but they are part of the deals that include the collections of multiple tools held within the boxes. Still, it is sort of a chance to see the Packouts in person and get a real sense of the sizes.

On another note: the same HD had Leatherman Wave+ for $79

Careful everyone. Buying them cheap now sounds great, but then you’re kinda locked into a system where you’ll be paying the insanely high prices later. I think Milwaukee know this.

Ridgid and T-Stak are always reasonable prices.

International tool has the 3pc stack listed at $199 plus they have a $20 off instant coupon automatically added in cart- I’ve been looking at these Packout sets since NPS 17 and saw that deal that was too good to pass up. Just ordered the stack for $179 and a 25’ Stud tape measure for $9.99. Both coming UPS ground for free in US. Not sure how long the prices will stay active, but wanted to share in case anyone else was like me and still on the fence at $197/$199.

You don’t even want to look at Pelican pricing then. The 1440 with pick and pluck foam is $195, and it’s smaller than the Packout rolling tool box.

Are there any deals to be had today, on the PackOut items – with a lower price than the $197 special for the 3 biggest boxes?

Or, better than$89 for the rolling box or $79 the 10″ tool tote?

Seems like Acme and ToolNut have them excluded, right?

Wait around for Father’s Day sales?

Picked up a lot of deal items I wanted already…

As mentioned in the post the deals ended in January.

However, if you don’t need the combo urgently, retailers will almost definitely have promo pricing again in November for the winter holiday shopping season.
