Ryobi Mini Cordless Drill at Home Depot in Fingers for Size

Home Depot has been late to join the mini tool box trend but seems intent to start a different one. For the 2025 holiday tool deals and gift season, Home Depot has launched mini Ryobi cordless power tools.

Unfortunately, they don’t work – these are just non-functional keychains – but they’re still kind of cute.

There are 6 different keychains, all featuring Ryobi tools- a cordless drill, 18V battery, reciprocating saw, sander, vacuum, and lawn mower.

Here’s the Ryobi 18V cordless drill keychain. Looking closely, it’s an 18V One+ HP brushless model.

Here’s a Ryobi 18V One+ 5Ah battery. Ryobi doesn’t have a 5Ah battery, right?

Ryobi Mini Cordless Sander at Home Depot

The sander is a bit different from Ryobi’s 18V model, but was recognizable.

It even has a mock sandpaper sheet on the bottom, with reasonably accurate orange-brown color and dust collection hole pattern!

Ryobi Mini Cordless Reciprocating Saw at Home Depot

The reciprocating saw is also labeled 18V One+ HP, after the brushless model.

Ryobi Mini Cordless Vacuum at Home Depot

The 18V cordless stick vacuum was nicely detailed.

The Ryobi mower was the largest of the keychains.

I turned it over, and sure enough it had a silver grass-cutting blade.

You can find the keychains at your local Home Depot store in the holiday tool deals and gifts section, unless they sold out already. They’re selling a 5pc set online. The set looks to feature everything shown here except for the lawn mower.

The set went out of stock, and I presume it’ll return for Black Friday.

I wonder if this is going to become a trend. While I wasn’t compelled enough to buy any of the Ryobi 18V mini tool keychains, a mini Milwaukee Packout tool box, M18 Fuel SURGE impact driver, or maybe Dewalt Atomic series tools might be more convincing.

    Pretty cute.
May other brands follow suit and compete 🙂

3D printing may be an option but with the modeling and then color swapping that would be a time consuming and expensive print per unit.

I have seen posts of these in Australia and other overseas locations the last couple years. I wondered if would ever make it here.

You know, technically, these are brushless.

      And where’s the battery charger?

IDK. The finish texture is kind of ugly. And most of them look like they would be a nuisance in the pocket if on a keychain. Look like doomed for the landfilled very quickly. Save your money and buy something nice for Toys for Tots instead.

Do both – I buy things that bring me joy and also give to Toys for Toys.

But their reps will maybe buy you lunch? Try that at a Big Box.

This kind of stuff is so silly. I guess if you have the money to waste on something so dumb, it IS your choice. I suppose if buyers are going to be so gullible, retailers will sell you anything.

Any sillier than a pumpkin spice latte for $6? People find joy in different ways.
