Details of Dewalt’s new hand tool lineup have been rolling in, so we thought to preview a few of them at once. While some of Dewalt’s new hand tools do look to be tweaked or even relabeled Stanley designs, their tool tote, adjustable wrenches, and utility knife are new designs, as are the MIG-weld framing hammer and 25′ tape measure we previously discussed.
Dewalt 24″ Tote with Power Tool Case (DWST24070)
The new 24″ tool tote is a 2-in-1 storage solution for power tools, hand tools, accessories, and even loose hardware. It has two parts, a large main compartment, and a power tool case, which also serves as a lid to the main storage area.

It’s hard to tell, but it looks like the power tool case can be completely separated from the tool tote. The power tool case has its own handle, so you can carry it closed in one hand, while carrying the open tote in the other.
The tool tote will be priced at ~$25 and will be available at Home Depot and independent retail channels in June.
Dewalt Heavy Duty Adjustable Wrenches
Dewalt has also come out with a line of heavy duty adjustable wrenches, available in 6, 8, 10, 12, and 15 inch sizes that range in price from $11 to $35. There will also be a 6 and 10 inch combo pack priced at $20.
These adjustable wrenches are designed for heavy jobsite use, and feature a black magnesium phosphate finish. The wrenches’ jaws and adjustment mechanism were designed to provide increased teeth and worm gear engagement for improved strength, and for minimal jaw movement for more precise fastener size adjustments.
I’m a huge fan of Channellock/Irega, Proto, and Stanley MaxSteel adjustable wrenches, so it will be interesting to see how these compare.

Dewalt Folding Retractable Utility Knife (DWHT10035)
If you’re thinking “ho-hum, another utility knife,” think again. The widespread success of Milwaukee’s Fastback Knife has shown that contractors and professionals are willing to spend more for a folding utility knife that breaks away from the mold.
Dewalt’s folding retractable utility knife offers the best of both worlds – it has the features of an ordinary utility knife, but can fold up for compact carrying and storage. The knife also has a quick-change button for easy blade changes, and on-board storage for up to 3 blades. When the blade is retracted, a built-in twine cutter can be used for quick twine or wire cutting.
Although I do like folding utility knives, my favorite knife is still Stanley’s QuickSlide.
The knife will hit store shelves in June at a price of ~$10.

Ahhh, they can release all the wrenches they want, but I’ll never buy another ridiculous adjustable wrench again. Once you’ve used a Knipex Pliers-Wrench, you’ll NEVER go back. Not even at the cost of $60 for the Knipex. It’s that much better.

You do have a point there. I have 2 Knipex pliers wrenches and absolutely love them. Still, there are times when I find an adjustable wrench to be handier.
Plus, it’s far more economical to keep an adjustable wrench in every toolkit than a pliers wrench.
