Olight Marauder Mini 2 LED Flashlight Black Friday 2025 Deal

The new Olight Marauder Mini 2 LED flashlight just launched and is on sale for Black Friday, saving you 20% off its list price.

I know little about this new model, but I tested and am familiar with its predecessor. The old Marauder Mini was fantastic – bright, the controls were great, and reliable.

Calling it a flashlight would be an injustice given how much light it puts out – up to 10,000 lumens according to Olight.

Olight Marauder Mini 2 LED Flashlight in Blue with Case

There are 5 lighting modes, including a flood light, spotlight, combination beam, red light, and apparently a new “side light.”

The Marauder Mini 2 has a 7500 mAh battery. Olight says it can deliver up to 5 months of runtime with the side light in moonlight mode.

You can recharge it via magnetic tailcap charger (not included) or USB-C cable (included). It has an IPX8 waterproof rating and ships with a storage case.

Price: $220
Deal Price: $176

Buy it at Amazon

Note: ALL 3 colors are on sale. The flashlight in black is discounted on the product page, and the blue and orange colors have the same discount but it’s applied at checkout.

Compared to the original Mini, the Mini 2 is brighter, has a longer max throw distance (750 meters), is equipped with a larger battery, charges via USB-C rather than just the magnetic charger, and comes with a hard case.

Olight should add USB-C charging to all of their lights, I’m definitely over the magnetic tail cap charger and recently gave them all away. I’m glad this one has a USB-C charging port.

They no longer seem to be on sale. The blue and orange are still at the discounted price for Prime members though.

In an incognito window, Black and orange are now discounted on the page, the blue has the same discount but only appears after adding it to your cart.

I see no mention of any Prime-only restrictions, anyone should be able to get the deal pricing.

I have a 4-C Maglite-ish that hangs out by the door. Its headline feature is an adjustable focus; the headpiece moves and thereby adjusts the throw. This is great for waking the dog; big, general light to spot anything the dog or I need to avoid, and a nice, tight spotlight for investigating whether it’s a sniff-session or I need to break out the poo bag.

Anyway, the batteries died yet again, because not everyone in the house remembers to turn it off and it doesn’t have an auto-off, and since it’s the only thing in the house that uses C-cells (by the seashore!), it’d be nice to replace it. It’d need to be relatively rugged, but also fairly safe and idiot-proof (a teenager will occasionally use it, to say nothing of the 3AM version of me). Ideally it’d have that same adjustable focus, but I can do without if I must. Bonus if it has an auto-off feature! Budget is probably $20-$100, but I can be convinced to move outside of this. Thoughts?

Auto-off is a tough one – I don’t know of any flashlight that has this. Some Olights have proximity-based auto-off.

I gave a Streamlight Dualie to my father after his 2D Maglite finally failed. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016P919RC?tag=toolguyd-20 I’ve got several of those at home too.

For a light that can hang by the door, I like Pelican’s, but the plastic crazes over time. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PDJ7DBT?tag=toolguyd-20

There are still zoomable lights. Some have different emitters and optics.

If your use is regular, you can buy a rechargeable light, preferably with 21700 sized battery, and then recharge on a weekly or monthly basis.

If in your shoes, I would test out different styles of flashlights at lower budget levels, figure out what works best, and then seek another light along those lines.

I like bright colors, e.g. https://toolguyd.com/fenix-new-flashlight-colors-2023/ rather than flashlights that might not stand out if moved to a different spot.

If your only problem with the current light is C batteries then C to AA adapters are one option. Looks like they’re $10 or less on amazon depending on which brand you get. I’ve been using the eneloop ones for years, because they came free with packs of batteries, but cheaper ones would probably work fine.

Stuart, what issues do you have with the Olight magnetic tail cap charger?
    Mine seem to work fine.

I have issues with the proprietary nature of it.

I’ve already got USB C and micro USB cables to charge the rest of my lights. A singular light requiring Yet Another Standard drives me up a wall.

I’m just over having to match different devices to different charging cables. I want USB-C for everything.

I like the simplicity of the magnetic charging, but for my own needs USB-C is simpler. Lights like the Olight Baton 4 charge via magnetic tailcap but the charging case has a USB-C port. That still required me to track down the case.

It’s really not a big deal, just a little extra effort, but I’ve been trying to move away from anything that’s not USB-C or useful across devices.

I recently gave away my Marauder Mini sample. It was great, and the magnetic charger was NOT the reason. If the Mini 2 launched with only magnetic charging, that would have been a purchase barrier for me.

Husky flashlights from Home Depot are great quality for relatively cheap money. Lots of options that will cover dog duty and random household lighting needs.

I picked up the nifty swivel head model that is both rechargeable and takes AAA. It has a pocket clip as well as a magnetic base that sticks to handy metal surfaces. It ranges from 1000lm down to a 10lm candlelight mode that lasts for days. I got it on sale for $20, but currently $25.

It really depends, as Husky seems to change styles and even suppliers very frequently. What you can find from Husky this Black Friday is unlikely to be available next year.
