Porter Cable ClampSaw 90 Degree Handle Position

Porter Cable’s 12V ClampSaw, which we reviewed almost three years ago, is currently heavily discounted over at Amazon. Normally priced at $110-120, the 2-battery kit can be had for just $67 right now.

The ClampSaw features a 3-position pivoting handle, and extendable clamp shoe that increases saw stability when cutting branches, pipes, and other cylindrical objects.

Porter Cable has since come out with an 18V version, and Dewalt came out with a slightly different 12V version as well.

The kit comes with the saw, a charger, (2) lithium ion batteries, and a carrying bag.

Buy Now(via Amazon)

In case you want to consider the Dewalt pivoting handle saw, that kit comes with 1 battery and  a 30-minute charger for $135 via Amazon.

Although these saws are useful for electricians, plumbers, and other tradesmen, they also work great for tree pruning.

I got one of these in a set with a drill driver. Great and handy saw, but the 4″ blades are unavailable. I use 6″ blades which leaves a lot of blade exposed at times. Any idea of where the shorter blades can be bought?

Bosch came out with compact 4″ blades, and there are a couple of 4″ blades at Amazon.

The PC kit comes with a blade or two to start you off with. 4″ blades can be hard to find in stores, but are available online. Metal-cutting blades seem easier to find than wood-cutting ones.
