Porter Cable Oscillating Multi-Tool Deal 2014

Over at Amazon this 52-piece Porter Cable oscillating multi-tool kit (PCE605K52)  is on sale, today only, for $74.99. The deal is valid today, 9/2/15, and expires at 3am ET tomorrow, unless supplies run out sooner.

This kit comes with Porter Cable’s 3-amp multi-tool, and what looks like a nice selection of blades and attachments.

Deal History: This post was first published on 11/16/14, and at that time the one-day sale price was $78.49. The post was modified and republished on 9/2/15 when the deal returned.

Thanks to Jerry for the heads-up!

I should point out that Porter Cable went through a slight design change about 2 years ago that affects accessory compatibility. If your tool comes with square accessory pins, which it should given the amount of time that passed since the change, then you can use it with Dewalt or Rockwell replacement blades. You might not be able to use other brands without an adapter since the tool-free blade change mechanism only works with open-loop accessories.

In my opinion, this is a good deal, but keep in mind what I said about blade and attachment compatibility. My personal preference is for Bosch of Fein multi-tools, and I would also recommend other tools that have universal or OIS-compatible tool-free accessory holders. It allows for greater flexibility when shopping for replacement blades.

I got one of these when you last had it listed in the deals. It is a decent tool, but be sure it works with the DeWalt accessories. From my experience DW attachments are much easier to find than Porter Cable, so check the pins. I really do like their mounting system, it takes maybe 2 seconds to swap attachments, or re-position. After being able to reposition the blade in literally a second, It is amazing how often that comes in handy.

Only a couple pieces with the tool but perhaps more what some people want.
