Coming Up: A Series of Rockler Tool Reviews

Rockler Bandy Clamps Product Shot Holds

Starting later today, and rolling into next week, we’ve got a couple of Rockler tool reviews in store for you.

Why? Because Rockler has been surprising us with new and innovative woodworking solutions at a regular pace, and because I wanted to give the idea of review “themes” another try. There’s another series of reviews for next week.

Don’t worry if you’re not a woodworker, quite a few Rockler tools are great for other purposes. That’s true for the general purpose tools that Rockler sells, but also for their self-branded tools and innovations.

Take the above Rockler Bandy Clamps, for example. I’ve been testing a couple of pairs, and while I touched them to a wood glue-up for initial testing, they’ve lived on some of my photography gear and workbench for much of the time since they arrived, holding cords and cables up or out of the way.

I have ordered quite a few tools, jigs, and supplies from Rockler over the years, and even some wood and raw materials. Checking my email archives, my first order with Rockler was placed way back in October 2007, which I guess means I’ve been a Rockler customer for over 8 years now.

We have been working hard to get all these reviews up and ready in a short time. If you like the idea of review themes, maybe it’s something we’ll do again in the future.

Rockler still has a bunch of ongoing Holiday promos, and I just received a link for free shipping on orders $25+. Clicking the image automatically applies the necessary coupon code:

Rockler Free Shipping 12-2015

If that doesn’t work, use coupon code AFAZ1 at checkout. I believe it expires at the end of December.

I haven’t bought anything from Rockler this entire holiday season, but there are a couple of things still on my wishlist.

What about you – Are there any Rockler tools on your wishlist?

Are there any Rockler tools you’d like to see reviewed sometime in the future?

Some of their ‘innovation’ stuff can be made in any fairly decently equipped workshop but I recently bought six of those Bandy Clamps and I must say that they are rather dandy.

It’s streaks ahead of the normal hard plastic cr@p found in every retail outlet.

This probably won’t be good for my wallet.

I’d love to see a review of their Dust Right tools. http://www.rockler.com/dust-right-universal-small-port-hose-kit

Curious how it fits with various products and vacuums.

I’m invested in the dust rite system and am really happy with it (telescoping hose with quick connect fittings on all my machines). However I use it with a dedicated dust collector so I can’t comment on how well it works with a standard vac.

I’ve looked that this item too – I would plan to use it with my old Fein Turbo III. I notice that Rockler features it on their promo pages – but has yet to discount the price as it is probably too new and/or is selling well.

Hi Stuart, I have been eyeing these for a while.

I am in NZ so with shipping on top they are expensive but if they are durable and suitable for a solid 7 foot bench they are just what I need.

Also looking at the POWERTEC 17000 Workbench Caster Kit on Amazon.

Would like to know how these two products compare.

I have no idea if these are any good or even comparable to what Rockler sells – but Woodworkers Supply is closing/relocating one of their retail stores and is offering discounts to clear inventory:
