Rockwell-Jawhorse

Rockwell’s Jawhorse is a portable clamping workstation that can be used for a variety of tasks. We’re not quite sure what to think about the Jawhorse, but we’ve seen nothing but positive reviews.

The Jawhorse has a wide three-legged base for stability, and has an all-steel construction. With its 1-ton clamping force, the Jawhorse can clamp large objects (up to 37° wide), serve as a second set of hands, and can be used to hold odd shaped objects.

Right from the start, the Jawhorse can be used as a portable workbench, sawhorse, or 1-ton vise. There are also numerous attachments and accessories available that increase the versatility of the workstation.

Additional specs: 600 lbs maximum load, 39x39x34″ footprint, 29x14x13 compact folded footprint, 43 lbs total weight. Lastly, the Jawhorse is available for ~$180.

I have a jawhorse and love it. Use it to clamp all sorts of things while I work on them, cut them or bend them. Cut a plywood base and attached my miter saw and I clamp it in the jawhorse all the time.

While I can see where it would be very use full. I would really be happier with a fourth leg. Tripod systems have not been good for me.

Of course I’m using them on a farm so my experience requirements may not be the same as others.

I had one of the first Black and Decker Workmates and it was cool and easy to work with. As someone who frequently works by themselves an exrta set of hands to hold some item in place is a bonus. I also agree with Rusty about having a fourth leg. It would provide greater stability on uneven terrain.

I’ve been jonesing for one of these for a long time. Just too cheap to pull the trigger.

I saw another infomercial for this Jawhorse. I would like to get one, but the price scares me. There are quite a few positive reviews on Amazon.

The Triton Superjaws has been around for a few years. I don’t know about the durability of the Jawhorse, but at least the idea (of a tripod clamping station) has been around long enough to gain some kind of following.
