We received official word that Stanley Black & Decker will finalize the sale of Delta Woodworking Machinery to Chang Type Industries in early February.

The new independent company will be called Delta Power Equipment Corporation, and will be based in Anderson County SC as previously reported.

Both the Unisaw and Biesemeyer brands will be moving along with the company to Delta’s new location in Anderson. Unisaw production will remain in the USA, with additional manufacturing, R&D, and engineering functions taking place in Anderson as well.

The deal is expected to close on February 4th, 2011, but it looks like the wheels are already in motion. Right now both “www.deltamachinery.com” and “www.deltaportercable.com” redirect to www.portercable.com.

No, this does NOT necessarily mean that all Delta power tools will be made in the USA.

The high-end Unisaw and Biesemeyer lines were specifically mentioned, and I would be very surprised if most of the other Delta tools currently being produced overseas were brought back for USA production.
