Thanks for the tip, I bought a router. Maybe save wear on my old PC., which I admit doesn’t run some of my larger bits very well.

Got my router today and tried it out on some ash.

Ok, I will admit router technology has improved since my 1980s era PC 690. The soft start and variable speed are nice. I especially like the fact that they used the PC base plate, all my inserts, bushings and router table just slip right in. Now why didn’t they go with an 1 and 1/8 collet nut instead of the 1 and 1/16 ? That would keep me from having to keep track of two sets of wrenches.

I’m not sure what “assembled in USA” means for sure, but it sure beats looking at “made in China”.

Glad it all worked out for you!

And I completely agree – “assembled in the USA” is definitely better to see than “made in China,” even if there might not be any real differences in product quality or consistency.

Did anybody else notice that on some items the price jumped exactly 20 dollars.

I didn’t, but that isn’t too hard to imagine.
